Any of the above, and MM as well. What sort of tone do you want?

wouldn't warpig sound too dark in mahogany?

Of the 3 you listed I'd choose Painkiller, but my #1 preference would be an Alnico Warpig - I have that pickup in my Gothic V tuned to drop-Bb & it has all the power & intensity I need for that tuning.  FWIW I even recorded a brief clip (http://www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11728) with it...

I don't have a ceramic NB or a ceramic 'pig, but "i play death metal only" makes me think that the Ceramic 'Pig is the way to go...

Search for posts by Drac in the Players forum to see what I mean ;)

(as an aside, wasn't it Drac that first ordered a CWP?)

Or you might wanna an alnico 8 version, like I have. Like a cross between alnico and ceramic.

Painkiller.

If you want to retain clarity while downtuning loads, I'd stay away from ridiculous output pickups like the c-pig.

Not so good buddy.

They all take it very well indeed.

I dunno man, when you downtune often, you invariably use heavy gauge strings. Lots of string mass in a very powerful field results in really "chainsaw-y" sound to my ears. Some people like that I guess.

Yeah, including people that "play only death metal" :)

You cant avoid that with PKs though. Its a property of the tuning/strings primarily and the PK still has it.

I have PKs, C-Pig/CS, Monster-MM (23k double screw pole)/Uber trills and an uber-sinner in C# and drop B with 11-62s and they are all plenty clear.

..Agree to disagree then mate? :)
Not that I dislike the C-pig (I've not grinned as hard in ages after trying the B6 with one, and will prob put one in my next B2), but I'd still stick with the PK recommendation for heavy downtuning.
