Slowhand or Irish Tour for a Ritchie Blackmore tone. Deep Purple era and Rainbow.
I'am using a 57 strat. Alder body , maple neck.
Gonna be serious on this one cos' bareknuckles pickup aint exactly cheap >_>

Same boat. Wondering how much overlap there is between the two. :D

Can't help you on the pickups, but BKP does have a return policy. If you feel you've made the wrong choice you can send 'em back and get the other set.

Don't know about Harrison but the research is half the fun for me. Well, not quite half but a lot.

i'am located very far away from the UK so shipping would take a pretty long time.

I just looked at the product pages - I can see why you're confused guys! Doesn't seem to be a lot of difference.
I never looked at Slowhands because I loved Rory Gallagher and, although I appreciate him, I'm not mad keen on EC. Not very scientific, but that's how I decided :?
I'm not sure anyone here has both...
What I would say is this: my very first "I WANT TO SOUND LIKE THAT" was back in the late 70s when I first heard Made in Japan. I try on and off... and I've never really managed it :(. But all strats and all strat pups I've tried get me vaguely close. Recently I've seen film of Blackmore (The scandinavian nights Deep Purple footage, the Rainbow in Munich 1977 gig, and some of the Blackmore's Night stuff) - and I'm reaching the conclusion that Mr Blackmore is one talented bloke, and most of his sound is in his fingers - he could probably get that sound out of my rig as is (I wouldn't let him scallop the fingerboard on my strat though!)
My only suggestion is email Tim/BKP, but I seem to remember that at least one of you has done this already? What suggestions did you get?

Apologies to all... I was remembering a previous post and I thought trilogies was what the conclusion was... I didn't realise it was someone completely different!
Seems to be a lot of us wanting to sound like Mr Blackmore :D
