I have seen this deal in Dawsons, and I have always wanted a Flying V for years as I am a lead player!
Imagine putting mules or black dogs in this, just wondering what you guys thought?
Is this as good as the more expensive Gibson Flying V's?
It seems like a bargain for a real Gibson... at £449.99! check the link:

They're alright guitars, I think you could get a better guitar for the price though. I used to have one with the moon inlays, it was nice, but the finish seemed a little inconsistent and I wasn't much for the pickups, the deciding factor for me selling it was that the fretboard was a bit too wide for my small hands. If you have the money for a "proper" one, get one.
But, they are without doubt one of the best looking stage guitars ever.

I miss it. :(

i just bought a sg faded and it's built pretty well
i thought they had cheap asian mahogany, like epiphone, but the wood feels and smells exactly like the brazilian mahogany les paul i had, so it is the same species (swietenia macrophylla, known as honduras mahogany)
i didn't play mine yet cause i bought without hardware and i'm still waiting for some parts
i'll probably order a cold sweat set for it, or maybe i'll try the holy diver
i never played the faded flying V, but gothic version was very cheap new too and it was the best guitar i've played in my life
i always wanted to get a faded V to refinish it in white and put a mirror pickguard :D

i'd just be a little wary of buying any of the cheaper gibsons online as the qc etc. can be a little bit, er, "inconsistant". If you can try one (and still get the good price) and like it, that'd be preferable, I think. :)

i've got one of those. worth the price they ask for it i think.

Can't comment on the Flying V but I did buy the Faded Cherry SG Special (in the USA I should add) - what I found was that you needed to look over a few guitars carefully and pick the best one - there was a great deal of variation in fit and finish - my advice would be to get over to the nearest store and look it over before parting with the ££££

Have you seen PhillyQ's Edwards V in Seconds Out/eBay?
I can imagine that being a GREAT guitar, and it's around the same price. Good looker too.
