Howdy, Ron here. So im lookin to upgrade the pickups on my Jackson SLSMG. Its a neck through mahagony with fixed bridge and ebony fretboard. Im currently using 11 gauge strings, planning on going up to 12. Im the guitarist of a 3 piece that plays a wide variety of genres so im looking to get as versatile a set up out of one guitar as possible.
What am I looking for? Id like to go from high gain distortion metal with nice tight bottom end that is still articulate and doesnt fall apart to less aggressive/modern metal types like 80's metal, or something like TooL. Essentially a metal/heavy rock pickup. I was thinking of a Miracle Man in the bridge for this.
I also need something to handle clean/funk/wah and blues/fuzz type tones. My lock BKP dealer suggested a Black dog for the neck.
Some band/song tones I like/am shooting for would be:
Megadeth
TooL
Ozzy - No More Tears
Sabbath
SRV
Kataklysm - Like Angels Weeping
Motley Crue - Dr. Feelgood
Led Zeppelin
Judas Priest - Night Crawler, Touch Of Evil
Fight - Metal Meltdown
Corrosion of Conformity - Albatross, Broken Man
Down ( the COC/Pantera side project thing) - love the tone on the whole NOLA album
Seems like a lot to ask for but i think its doable. If i left anything out the might be helpful let me know.
Thanks for any help.

Miracle Man is possibly the least versatile in the BKP range. I'm thinking Cold Sweat calibrated set, based on the list of bands/songs but I'm having trouble imagining the sound you want. Can you tell us what tonal characteristics you want to change with your current sound?

Hello and welcome ron!
Another nailbomb recommendation from me, if you want to try to get close to all those bands tones! (2 in one day....how strange). (And I hope you have a versatile amp!!!)
