So I got a JSX and 6505+ on loan today for some reamping and did some A/Bing for lead and rhythm tracks for a band I was recording.
I found at first the JSX didn't really have enough bite in the top end, but had all the mids and bass I wanted. Went to the 6505+ and found the mids were uninspiring, but had the low and high end I wanted.
After about 30 minutes of messing about I got the tone I was looking for with JSX on the crunch channel. I also used the ultra channel for the lead tones. Seriously impressed by this amp. This is a quick clip from one of the first mixes

Niiiice! :D

Does sound good but I can see what you mean about the "not enough bite in the top end" thing, I prefer the tone you were getting on The Safety Fire EP :) Was that Engl?

The tone reminds me of a Lamb of God kinda thing. Good song, awesome playing as always.

How's the R2R reamping going mate?
I'm still suprised at the free amps - Crazy shite.

Dude, the jsx is a great amp, when i first got it i found it did not have the bite it needed, i was advised to change the tubes to 6L6, best decision i ever made sounds like a 5150 with the sweetest mids. should be recording soon with the nailbombs through it, so i'll try to get some clips done
