Got a pig 90 in my Pearl LP now, just set to full at the minute as I dont have a push/pull but it'll be tappable down to about 10k when I get that sorted out :) It didnt sound amazing with it high - too compressed and dull sounding. With it about level with the pickup ring its much better, more clarity and definition which is what I was looking for. Anyway here it is with the usual setup boosted with the Keeley Rat again! I'll try to get another one of it doing Dragonaut as p90s are made for stoner rock!

Neck MQ was just doing the short lead bit.

Sounds great Tom, nice tone and cool sounding riff nicely played. :D

Cheers Johnny, the pig 90 is a great pickup. Not sure if I want this much output/compression yet so I'm sort of thinking about sending it back for a MQ but not sure yet - this is pretty fun for playing metal and stuff on :P Might find it more versatile when I get the tap sorted out properly.
I messed up at the start for a bit which is really annoying me! Even though its only a quick demo thing I think I'll still go back and fix it tomorrow, I hate having a little error like that which always stands out loads to me :? One guitar sounds out of tune at another point as well :x

Damn cool, that lead lick was rippin - it's great to see an already accomplished player like you still improving. I think you should seriously look to make a career on guitar _tom_, you got it all, the tone, the taste, the passion!

I know what you mean about those little errors, I didn't notice any though but i have to try and put them right too.

Thanks for the comments :) I'd like to make a career out of guitar hunter but like I said before I really dont have the commitment to learn theory that I'm guessing you need for session work etc. I cant get my head round it - I've tried to sit down and learn before but it doesnt seem to sink in. Ideally I'd be in my own band getting big but I doubt thats going to happen, especially with the kind of music I really like - not very mainstream and its also hard to find people into it around here. I'm hopefully moving south after uni so maybe there'll be more people into the same stuff Cornwall way if I end up there like I'm sort of hoping :)
quick question - is this how "normal" p90s are meant to sound? I thought it might be more open and gritty sounding than it is, I guess thatd be due to the high output? Cant decide whether I want a lower output MQ or just stick with this and stop searching for tone  If you listen you can hear the neck one sounds a bit more hollow and singlecoily which I like but I'm really not sure what to do :?

Damn that sounded good. Made me want an SG with a pig-90 someday.

Amazing tone!!!

This clip is AWESOME dude, I say keep the Pig-90! Maybe wire it up with the tap as the regular sound, and then the full wind as the 'Pull' on the push/pull switch (if you're doing it that way).
It's be like having one of those inbuilt booster/overdrive circuits, except for yours would sound good!
-
Yeah I was actually thinking of doing it that way. Need to wire up a capacitor to the volume control anyway because that always thins out the sound a little bit when you turn down the volume which will be good for what I want probably :)

Really good tone and playing! Got me wanting some p90's now
