Haha, i saw it a few weeks ago i was like wow that sounds awesome, but didn't really do anything about it. Then i watched it this week and thought it sounded even better and came to the conclusion that it sounded like Bon Jovi or Def Leppard so i went searching and found it.

def leppard are awesome. and phil collen's a really under-rated player (possibly because he looks like an extra from grange hill in the 80s?)

yeah, Collen is pretty good, and i've been aching for one of his Jackson PC-1 guitars in natural since i saw them on tour with Whitesnake.  gorgeous guitar!

i know it'll never happen, but it'd be great to see them rock out again like on their first couple of albums.  they do have the guy that played on Holy Diver onboard these days!

The PC-1 is the only nice Jackson imo.

I always get the impression Campbell doesn't have particularly fond memories of his Dio days.  Shame, because of all the things he's done Leppard is the one I like least!

Bring back Pete Willis I say!

Bring back Pete Willis I say!

The guitar compliment that is Leppard isn't the same at all anyway. How did you miss Steve!?
I actually quite like how Pete plays.
Either that, or make Collen use an Ibanez Destroyer again.

Not my favourite version of this song though :(

I didn't forget Steve, but there's no bringing him back, is there?

I wasn't being serious saying bring Pete back (I wasn't taking the piss either), but I think his contribution is under-valued.  He tends to be written off as "that bloke with the drink problem who left before they made it big", but they've never done a ROCK album anywhere near as good as High 'n' Dry - including the ones Steve was on.  That must be at least partly due to the lack of Pete Willis.

I have no problem with Collen either, I actually think Campbell is the weak link in the current lineup.  He seems to fancy himself as a singer/songwriter nowadays, but that's not his talent - what he actually does best is play the guitar.

I think there is also no hope of bringing Pete back as well, that was my point :P you are in a very hypothetical situation as it is IMO (I agree with you Phil, was just stating how I appreciate Pete, and miss Steve's playing.. again)
I can't quite understand Viv, but there seemed to atleast be an interaction with the other duo's. I think I am tiring of Collen style unriffy lead intro's now though :(

Ah, understood!

And you're right, they don't write decent riffs any more.

...or lyrics....

Rocket yeah satellite of love
Rocket yeah satellite of love
Rocket yeah satellite of love
Rocket baby! C'mon, I'll be your satellite of love

Ooh ooh
Ah ah
Ooh ooh
Ah ah

Spotlight magnetic razor rhythm laser love
Guitar, drums, load up, stun!

Ah ah
Ooh ooh

Now you've got me thinking about:

Let's get, let's get, let's get, let's get rocked
Let's get, let's get, let's get, let's get rocked
Let's go all the way
Get it night'n'day
Come on, let's get, let's get, let's get, let's get rocked

Complete with one of the most embarrassing moments in rock history:

Well I'm sorry girl here's my confession
I suppose a rock's out of the question?

Although I like some of their music it always seems overproduced/overprocessed. Prefer more raw/in yer face production.

Have you heard High'n'Dry their first album? It was produced by the same guy that produced Back in Black (Mutt Lange), and around the same time I believe - awesome album!

sorry to correct you Indy, High'n'dry was their second album, their first was On Through The Night.  also a good album. slightly oddly, Dimebag Darrel (he'll always be Diamond Darrel to me!) cited it as one of his biggest influences.  that should surprise anyone that only knows Def Leppard's pop rock stuff!

High and Dry is one of the bet rock albums ever IMO
It does sound like Back In Black - not surprising as it was the next album Mutt Lange did after AC/DC
High N Dry has the best riffs and lead playing of all the Def Leppard albums
Let it Go is a classic - I remember being 15/16 and so into that when it was first released

I love Pyromania as well as it goes.......

Phil Collen does play the old Destroyer on one song live on this tour!
But Viv Cambell looks so odd these days....
Think he shares the same Vegetarian/Vegan diet as Phil Collen and both look like "Action man" with the old six packs showing, but Viv looks like an ape man because he is so hairy  (wish he would keep his shirt on live- not a pretty sight)

Speaking of looking odd, what about Sav?  He looks like he's been undergoing a very, very slow sex change for the last 15-20 years!

Given the circumstances of his face thing, he looks great I think. Also, looks quite similar to how he did back in the 80's, whereas the others look waaay  different

Oops, I didn't know about his face.  He has Bell's Palsy, I've just learned.

If by some miracle you should read this Sav, I apologise.

The ongoing curse of being a Def leppard member- worse than Spinal Tap with Drummers

I've got the 7" single of "My Number", on clear vinyl  :D .  Great song!  And Phil Lewis was better then than he ever was in LA Guns.

Agreed On LA Guns they rocked, crackign live too I seen them supporting either the Cult or Skid Row I'can't quite remember as the two gigs were so close to each other.
