After messing around with all these employers for the best part of 2 months, I finally get an interview last wednesday for Systems Support Officer Applications in the local council, 1st interview ever, and I got the job!
This calls for an early afternoon beer, the best kind of beer!

Congratulations! :D
There's nothing quite like getting offered a job when you've been looking for a while.
Enjoy the beer (and the freedom before the actual job starts and it's slavery and drudgery from then on )
-
congratulations :)

Nice one! :D

A very good question. I was thinking the same thing earlier. It's basically a janitor yeah?

Depends what the "system" that you're supporting is - "Applications" is a big clue, I reckon...
...I've got some cream that says "apply after each ..." - maybe he's in charge of that sort of thing?

I'll basically be maintaining the councils database servers, as well as upgrading and adding records to it. Which all runs on unix and SQL.
