Why do they always go missing? I stopped playing the guitar for a few secs to post a few responses on here and my plectrum has gone. Nobody else in the room, just me and my guitars and a PC. It always happens and is now starting to annoy me. Even though I know it won't be there I have looked under the keyboard about a dozen times.
Does anyone else suffer from this?

Found it. Panic over. It was stuck to the bottom of my forearm!

Oh my god all the time. I had three when I moved back home, I now have one.
Also sometimes i put them in my mouth when practicing so I can type or something, then forget where it is.
-
I started to buy them in bags of 25 or so, suddenly I never lose them.
$%ing typical.

i have a bowl of a few hundred now and it does make at hard to not find one. although i am considering getting some printed after i recieved an email from this company the other day
http://www.claytoncustom.com/
the prices seem more reasonable than whenever i have looked into it before so i am very tempted

Picks go to the place where your socks go after you put them in the washing machine.
The speed and rotating action of objects in a washing mahine or a pick tumbling to the ground creates an opening in space-time or a paralel dimension.
-
What confuses me is the fact that after I've lost a load, they all seem to start turning back up at the same time. It's like lighters. I either have none, or about 15.

+1
But I'd rather this than not finding them all the time!!
Plus I use 3mm stubby triangles (not "big stubbys", which are in fact small!!), and I'll be damned if I can find anything usable if I lose those bad boys. With a bag of 25 knocking about, I'm never without :)

I used to lose them all the time. Then I bought a stone pick for $25. Never lost it even for a day.

Incidentally, is the plural of plectrum, plectra?

I don't think I've ever lost a plectrum. I've been using the same one for about 3 years now :P It's a real goodun.

cheers Roo, I've never heard of 3mm stubby triangles before, deffo gotta get me one next time I change strings, I seemed to have switched back to Jazz IIIs from 3mm big stubby's (again)
more on topic, I've got like a billion well used picks, all of which have gone missing and have returned over time, current missing a brand new 3mm big stubby though, the tortex one came back though, but now I don't like it!

If I drop one when I'm playing it seems to disappear or somehow have bounced to the other side of the room. I dont know how they do it..
