Title: A good power supply for my fx(that isn't noisy)

As I said above a good power supply for my fx(that isn't noisy as in adds noise to the signal) and preferably fairly cheap

Actually, I'm looking at some pedal power too - just how good is this Diago one?

How would it compare to say, a Dunlop power brick?

The Danelectro Noiseless Adapter.

Cheap, reliable and it doesn't hum.

The psu Diago use is identical to this one:

The one you want is 85-2942. You need to change the polarity to centre neg. I've been using one of these for 2 years with no probs, as has Twinfan.

I've spoken to James at Diago, and this is the exact same supply he uses, except he orders them from China directly, in bulk with the correct polarity.

I have the Visual Sound 1 Spot (I'm becoming Visual Sound Boy on this forum, aren't I?  :oops: ).

It's certainly small and very cheap, but I can't comment on the noise factor as I have nothing to compare with.

In my experience how noisy a power supply is depends upon the pedals that you're using it for.  Some pedals will hum if they're not powered by an isolated supply, whereas the majority will be fine with a daisy-chain supply or something like a Sound Lab Pedal Power.  I use a Sound Lab which is fantastic for the all of my pedals except for a Boss RC-2  Loop Station (which hums like a mo-fo but is silent with it's own supply).

In the Guitarist mag this month, in the question section at the back, there is an article on power supplys. if you have a noisey pedal, they recommended a little device from gig rig which is a virtual battery and it isolates the individual pedal and gets rid of the buzz

Along these lines, I'm thinking of powering my ISP Decimator ProRackG (which requires AC, can't remember what specs) with something other than the current unit. I got sent the one from the US that went with it, but that's not for 240V supplies!
What do you guys recommend?

I don't want to hijack the thread (don't want to start a new one either, as i'm at the very early stages here, as usual :lol: ), but after reading this thread, and seeing/hearing the difference those cleartone cables made, i figure a new power supply might help too as currently i'm just using the bog standard boss one...

i've come across the diago one mentioned in this thread, also the gigrig one, a rothwell audio one, and two voodoo labs ones (they're twice the price of the others, though, i'd only go for them if they were much better :(). is there any major difference between all of these? the first 3 are roughly the same price- close enough that i'd go for the best one even if it were the most expensive. I don't think I'd need a centre positive option either- all my current pedals seem to be centre-negative, and the only pedals I've really seen which need centre-positive seem to be vintage fuzz pedals, and I don't see myself getting a fuzz pedal any time soon (plus they're meant to sound better on batteries, anyway).

The problem seems to also be that yes we all run 9v, but some of us also run 12v for H&K pedal so I need to use something like the voodoo lab pedal power as most of the others only supply 9v. Is there anything out there apart from the voodoo lab & the  BBE Supacharger
