Title: VH II in a Gibson LPC ?

Hi!
I´m planning on swapping out the stock pickups in my LPC.. Too muddy and undefined.
I´m looking for a Van Halen / Tekro (TNT) sound in a Les Paul - will the VH II do the trick ? Or maybe the Cold Sweats ? Basically I want the LPC to sound more "stratty" with tight lows and lots of bite and definition.
Of course I know one can´t get a LPC to sound like a Strat ..but what will get me in the right direction ?
(Btw from what I´ve read VH used Les Pauls on some early recordings..)

Any suggestions ?

Tight lows, lots of bite and definition is a pretty good description of Emerald pickups - particularly the bridge.

Do a search for 'Emerald smooth lead' and it may help you out.

Btw my gear is a Splawn Quickrod (not arrived yet) and (currently) a Framus cab with greenbacks.
Tim recommended the Cold Sweats, but we didn´t discuss the VHII´s at the time.
Other ideas or experiences to how the VHII´s will sound in a LPC compared to the Cold Sweats ?

Check out Hunter's clips if you want to get a good idea of how the VHII's sound. His clips are very good.

Thanks sounds ok.
Although I would like to hear the VHII or Cold Sweats in a LPC ;)
..Can´t wait for the Quickrod to arrive!

riff raff + some kind of strong mid booster like he used before the amp?
I think the cold sweat is more powerful and aggressive than what you're looking for

Although I haven't used them in a heavy custom yet, I would think: yes. Also they split really well, for your stratty tones. Please confirm with Tim before ordering, he might have tried that combination before.
