Title: axesrus strat necks
Post by: gwEm on August 04, 2008, 11:54:43 PM
as we know, theres a million different variations in woods, style, frets, profile etc etc.

i want a 22 fret, maple board, CBS neck. i have no idea about profiles. i'm quite an adaptive player, but not silly thin anyway ;)

theres not too many options to get necks in the UK, and its seems the combination i want is slightly rare. anyway, axesrus sell it. unfortunately though, its not a mighty mite neck, as one might have imagined (i know this because i asked them).

http://www.axesrus.com/axenecks.htm (http://www.axesrus.com/axenecks.htm)

its about 2/3rds of the way down, costing £71.

for the price, one might imagine a sort of MIM quality level - i should hope so anyway!

axesrus are efficient, but they do sell tat occasionally, i've bought some pretty ropey stuff from them in the past - as well as mostly decent gear obviously.

has anyone tried their necks? any good? this is what i want style, although i could order from several places in the US and get a known neck - Mighty Mite or Warmoth... and pay taxes etc etc.

my shredings coming along, it would be nice to get something at least a bit good.

Not sure about Axesrus but you could try allparts UK, that way you get a quality american neck but it is sent from the UK.  Never used them but have been looking at them for a partscaster.

i've just bought a mighty mite neck and body from the usa, paid another £40 import tax etc but it's all been worth it. Both fit together ok.

I'm going to be ordering a neck for my bitsa soon, but instead of mighty mite I'm going to be using these guys (http://"http://www.bhefnerco.com/Necks.htm"). Seem to be about the same cost as the mighty mites but much more allowance on making it exactly what you want
