Ukes are great.

Me and some mates went camping a few weeks ago, and one of us brought one. He was the only one that could play it at all, and the only song he could play was the monster mash.

We were singing that song for a solid 3 days, it was bloody awesome.

Thirty quid to turn you into a goddamn sexual tyrannosaurus with the ladies?  Money well spent, I reckon.

(I made the assumption that you are a man, and interested in women - if this is incorrect please feel free to adjust the "goddamn sexual tyrannosaurus" comment any whichway you like.

Mark.

-edited to make up for the terrible spelling of "tyrannosaurus"...

Someone a big fan of Predator then? :D

I ordered one of those, took so long to arrive I go bored with the idea and decided to keep my £30.

i was given a really old banjolele a few years ago... now thats George Formby!!! Its possibly the most insulting instrument i have ever heard... even worse than a normal banjo

although i am currently on a lapsteel buzz.  they are great fun  to build and so simple i reckon anyone could do it

My housemate Rob has one; it lives in our kitchen and it's ALWAYS being played.
Lots of fun.

play it today, a white one, but they have a pink one, still got my GAS, 3 highest strings are the same as 3 highest on a guitar, the low string is weird and basically a whole down from the highest string

and I got more money than I thought, so very very tempting!

had those for years, never wear them now unless I go the krazyhouse in liverpool

I'm back from my weekend of metal and can say that shredding and sweeping on a flying V ukulele pays itself back in free booze and attention, I think I had my picture taken with random people like a hundred times

Hahaha superb!
I only know a couple of tunes on the ukulele - my dad taught me them when I was a nipper, and you never kind of forget. Get some funny looks if you play those tunes on a guitar though! I love that V-uke, gotta be a barrel full of laughs :)

Glad it went down well for the weekend, JDC!
