caparison guitars have caught my eye for a possible next guitar, and i'd like to know more. The Horus HGS series are the ones im seriously looking at. So i guess my questions are how does walnut sound, how thin is the body (they said they slimmed it down and thus use walnut), and hows the bolt on? Im a little perturbed by the bolt on because right now all i have is neck-thru guitars.
Thanks guys :)

just hope mdv doesn't see this thread...
the last one got kinda ugly.
Anyway, i've tried only one, not the walnut one, i think it was a horus though. I thought it was quite nice, but far too dear for what it was- japanese prices (i.e. about £600) are about right, UK prices (close to £1500 o_O) aren't.

You don't wanna go there, believe me, it ain't pretty!

walnut is usually quite heavy which is probably why they make the guitar thinner. i'm doing a walnut guitar at the moment and even with extensive chambering its still a weighty little beast
the tone is mid to bright, like maple but a bit more friendly... i would try before you buy as walnut does have its own characteristic sound and its not for everyone

pshh you said it was messy as if there was caparison bashin... all i see is arguments over custom vs production. Pish posh :P

It started out well enough though.

That was definitely a thread for onlookers...

I looked on with a mixture of fascination and dismay.
