Title: Tonight is Steve Cropper Night (I Hope)
Post by: Kilby on August 22, 2008, 09:39:16 AM
I'm rather excited as providing my beloved wife hasn't got the ticket situation wrong as Mr Steve Cropper is playing Belfast tonight.

Sigh if only Roo could make it to that gig ;)

Should things fall through there is still Ten Years After, 9 Below Zero, Henry McCullough (Wings, Joe c--ker & Ronnie Lane) and a Rory Gallagher Day too.

Anyway I'm too excited for somebody of my age

Rob...

Oh yeah heres the site link for you anybody in the right part of the world http://www.bigriverbluesandjazz.com/ (http://www.bigriverbluesandjazz.com/)

Hehe. Belfast as the "right" part of the world.

Sadly, budget constraints have kicked in, So I'll be down in The Big House to see ZZ Too tonight myself. Standard tribute band drinking rules will be enforced.

well it's as right as any other part of the world.

Looks like Mr Cropper has indeed come a cropper :(

So I have to go and get some tickets fot the Gallagher thing instead

I know what you man about tribute bands requiring alcohol (often to remove them from long term memory)

I wish I had man the wife forced me to see Willy Byrne in the Empire, shemanaged to get absoluteley p1shed and refused to leave the salsa night (I stayed sober cos I was driving)

Damn I could have done with a pint and a tolerable tribute band <sigh> where they any good ?

I was dissapointed with Byrne as his playing hasn't progressed in 20 years and he bloody looks like Boris Johnston these days.

I would have been more than happy to have stood ya a couple of pints (as your posts usually brighten up the day for me)
