I had an old Carlsbro amp years ago; I'd just started playing, and wasn't that discerning, but I have such fond memories of it...  Only borrowed it, it belonged to my school.  But it was great, really good.

I have an original 1 from 1973 or 1974 and love it.

It's a very simple amp (bass, middle, treble and volume controls) with no bells or whistles.

I find it to be a very fat sounding clean amp that takes pedals very well.

Depending on the condition of the amp, that's a pretty regular price for that amp.

Mine worked out at about that by the time I factored in the cash aswell as the part exchange for my Marshall combo. Mines in mint condition, so I didn't mind paying it.

S'ppose it deppends what you're looking for :)

very similar to the older marshalls.
