Patience grasshopper
You get it and tell US what YOU think ;)
-
Man this wait must be killing you, and i'm probably not helping it by just saying that!

I got mine in the mail yesterday.
...in my MIND.

Got mine... played it a bit... Was OK... but I sent it back because I'd rather have a Caparison...

Doug rang me tonight to catch up over various bits and pieces
Sounds like he is very busy this week
Sure the stuff will be heading out ASAP

When I read the first sentence, I yelled "What?" at my monitor.
The second made it all nice and funny though.
Cheeky bugger!

Since I posted The B6 question I had been locked off of the BK site. Tim and Oliver got it sorted out and I'm back on.
I've missed some long streches before but have always had the option to log on. This time I had no choice, scary.
Update: No B6 yet...................waiting........................waiting.....................waiting

Relax man! Get a girl and a beer, put a nice song to play and enjoy :D
The baby is coming... this can be so evil that the first thing that it can does is eat his father

Anybody know if there are any B6s still available?
I was just going to get a B7 I've got ordered, but hopefully there is a B6 that isn't spoken for available.. the Canadian dollar is doing very well against the pound right now and I want to take advantage :)
-
I think they have all been spoken for some time ago. Doug is not even accepting orders on 2009 production anymore. However, if that were a B2 you were waiting for I'd be looking to do some horse trading, so to speak. 8)

I'm one of the ones in on the 2009 production.. I had a deposit in for a B6, and as soon as he opened the books for customs, I changed over right away. I was hoping that B6 was still orphaned, and I could re-adopt it, but no luck I guess :(

The Blackmachine B6 arrived on Wednesday morning. Doug mailed it on Monday in England, and it arrived on my door step on Wednesday in New York, USA. TOTALLY SWEET! The B6 is everything I could ask for in a guitar. The sound is resonant and sweet plugged in or not. Moreover, it just feels right, which is of major importance.
Pron and a review will have to follow in a new thread as soon as I get a little playing time in on it. There were some keen changes made to the B6 from what was shown on the Blackmachine web site, and I think most, if not all, were for the better. More on that later...
-
Cool bloke! nice to hear it, but show us pics, please
-
Excellent, interested to see how they look with the swamp ash body instead of idigbo. What pickups did you go for?
-
Sounds awesome, but im gasping for pics.
-
Look forward to seeing pics. Mine should be on the way soon!

Sorry for the delay, and the quality of the pictures. I wanted to get a few on here and I will do some better pic's on my next day off.

And a few more....
The PUP's are Nailbombs.

I should stop eating cell phone's battery (http://216.211.140.132/Smileys/Lots_O_Smileys/doh3.gif)
Broken: WOW! I really like your Blackmachine!!!
-
It is a little bland, but i suppose that is the point. I do like the constancy of Rosewood extended up through the headstock. It is more about the tone and playability with the Blackmachines though, i mean, i guess. I don't really know because i have never played one; maybe... someday... PDT_049

simples good though... i think i would have liked to see a string through body bridge but its a beaut all the same
-
Looks great. I want one =(

+1 :(

So the bodies are now swamp ash like the B2/B7s? I played Dougs #1 B6 a few months back, the one with the idigbo body & C-Pig/Pig set and that guitar was a massive amount of fun... I'm interested to try a swamp ash one now. Still, it means that my B7 is nearer completion!! 8)
-
so how much cheaper are these 'cut down' models? suppose you still get all that BM quality and feel without the premium for having a top made from a 3000-year old piece of wood formerly used as a table during the last supper.
-
Prices for the 2008 stock were about £1050
Cant speak for 2009 prices.
-
I really like the look of the ash. It's so understated yet classy. Congrats with your ax.
-
Congrats mate, playing the prototype B6 still sticks out in my head as one of the most fun moments I've had with a guitar. Hopefully I'll get a chance to play one of the production ones soon.. Dez?

Yep, Doug apparently found a way of getting swamp ash at roughly the same price as the idigbo. Since he considers it a similar but superior tonewood he went for it.

Do ou happen to know if there is there even going to be another run?

Thanks for all who appreciate what it is. I have more ornate guitars to be sure, but the Blackmachine had a familiar feel to it right from the start and it is moving right into the #2 spot in my line up, (my SG is #1 for reasons beyond your comprehension).
I have not had a chance to lay down any tru oil on it yet, however, it seems as though Doug may have put a coat or two on it. The American Swamp Ash has a great reverberant sound to it, and I am digging the reverse headstock like the B2. The Indian Rosewood on the fret board and headstock feels as good as it looks. I thought I would have preferred Ebony, but it really doesn't matter. The naked English Maple neck has a wonderful feel to it, and it seems as if it is faster than my other guitars with Nitrocellulose, and varnish finished necks. I would have loved for this to be a B2 but I guess it just is what it is. Cheers!

Doug was round here the other day and we were discussing the possibilities of it and kicking around ideas of what we both wanted to do with our respective products , along with discussing F1 and model cars etc etc

That's interesting to know. I've heard many contradicting things about what his plans are for the future, but then that's just the way he is. At one time he was talking of doing a short run of 8-strings., wonder if that's still a possibility..

Just to note that you will not need to oil the guitar. It's already been treated with Danish oil and shouldn't need any further attention on top of the usual cleaning & fretboard care.

your blackmachine looks great,
i´m sure its a killer!!
congrats,
chris
-
I like how simple and beautiful the design is!!... I like F1 too!! You must be on a cloud BrokenC !!!
-
Thanks for the kind words.
The B6 is an awsome guitar to play it is very lively and clear. There really is no problem moving between this and the shorter scale Gibson that I sometimes experience while going back and forth from Gibson to Fenders. I am very happy with my decision to purchase the Blackmachine B6, and feel that the money was well spent and the guitar was worth the wait.
Cheers!
