For WEEKS I've been having extremely specific musical cravings... a mix between progressive modern jazz, with world influences with (non-gangsta) rap.
I'm absolutely craving it, but I don't even know if anyone exists who even plays this kinda stuff!
Has anybody experienced anything similar?
Or know of anyone who plays music like this?

I crave music that doesn't exist (to the best of my knowledge) all the time.
What the heck is "world influences?"
-
Thievery Corporation perhaps.
You might be actually be after dub reggae.
You might like Dub Side of the Moon by the Easy Star All-Stars.

I know what you mean. I wouldn't know how to go about finding that kind of thing. But I once settled that kind of craving by discovering a bad called Ozomatli or something. The album I heard had latin beats and melodies with some non-gangsta rapping, but not so much with the progressive jazz element. But they might be worth a go as a first step, maybe they have fans or links to other bands that might incorporaten Jazzy influences. Oh I also recall they had some kinda Salsa style brass and piano going on too. Odd mix but it seemed to work and was really catchy. :)

"Ever feel like listening to music which probably doesn't exist?"
Enter: Meshuggah.

I agree with Meshuggah.
The Mars Volta can also settle some of those bizarre urges.
-
I usually get my fix from Ozric Tentacles.
-
I agree with the last 3 bands mentioned, they do the job nicely!
-
I'd say The Mars Volta is music which msot certainly exists, but shouldn't.

I'd guess you aren't too fond of The Groundhogs either, then (I had a listen to 'Cherry Red' the other day and it has pretty much every trick TMV use but somewhat earlier).
I didn't think much of TMV when I first heard them but they grew on me (they might just do the same to you... :teeth: ).

I know a band that might quench your thirst!!!! They're called Manes. They're from Norway and they do some heavey stuff some slow modern stuff, weird multi cultural rapping and lots of other unusual things. i recommend you check out the album called how the world comes to an end (or something like that) its immense.

The closest thing I think you will ever get to what you want to hear.....to my knowledge.
Although nothing on the myspace shows the mix I promise you there is on the album.
Other hiphop with jazz stuff like J5 and Gangstarr
