Damn it only Glasgow looks like a possibility (the only time I ever saw him was when he was playing for Level 42, & he was the only reason I went)

If I'm not mistaken this is his second UK tour this year, something of a rarity indeed.

So he's coming to Tokyo again but he's playing at the STB139 club, who sell their tickets by a lottery system, a real PITA.

Alan played at my guitar teacher’s studio about 8 weeks back; there were about 40 people in all. He held nothing back, we tilted some beers and he did a good session of answering questions before he resumed playing. Alan is quite good; he is one of the few people that my teacher idolizes as a player. Alan is a very approachable nice, nice guy, that really has command of his instrument. Chad Wackerman was on drums; he seemed a bit full of himself and his early work with FZ, but he hel a good beat. Jimmy Johnson was on bass and was phenomenally good too, and an unassuming really nice guy.

Wackerman is a good drummist but he was part of the reason why Zappa's final touring band broke up before completing the '88 tour. I won't forgive him for that. I think Gary Husband is a better match for Holdsworth anyway.
