Title: Miracle Man in a LP Studio
Post by: guitarman108 on September 20, 2005, 02:49:13 AM: Hi i have a Gibson LP Studio with an EMG passive in the bridge. i was wondering how much different the miracle man would sound in it. i am thinking of getting one.

Post by: Gary on September 20, 2005, 03:32:36 AM: I've got a Fender US Strat as well as a Squier Strat. I had Apaches put in the Fender and the difference was tremendous. The best way I can describe the sound now is more focused and you can hear all the notes more clearly. I've got some clips on the players' forum if you're interested.

I'm toying with the idea of putting a humbucker in the Squier, mainly so I can get a completely different sound. The trouble with upgrading a guitar like this is knowing when to stop - electrics? machine heads? bridge? etc.

Post by: 38thBeatle on September 20, 2005, 07:32:51 AM: I shall chip in here too and say you won't regret it. If you are looking for traditional Strat tones then Apaches are fantastic. They are not intended to be high output monsters and you should find that your current settings will stay about the same but will just sound somehow better. I can't supply the techno stuff but they are just well made pickups and it shows. I am sure someone will respond to your query regarding your Gibson. I am not an h/b player but the lads here are going to be able to come up with suggestions.

Have a listen to the sample clips in the players room of the Miracle Man.....I think you'll find it will give your EMG a run for it's money!

I can tell you from personal experience that the Miracle Man will blow you away! Imagine similar output to the EMG, but with more articulation. Through an amp, the pickukps really strut their stuff, because you get all that harmonic detail, but the pickup still sounds very organic and full.
