Are the supporting walls of your house made of amps?

Why is it in a school? :?

Wow - thats cool but exactly the opposite of what I need

I don't suppose thats ever stopped you before ;)
BTW, i checked out all your items for sale today in more detail. the preamps look interesting, but sorry to see your selling your 50w head, it seemed to be a permanent piece of scenery in your workshop.

I know - but I cant turn it up past two without facing eviction and I think that it doesn't really start to sound great until after three on the master volume. I actually bought it to be easy to use at guitar shows as well as in the workshop - thinking that everybody knows how to work a Marshall, but even at the shows you cant turn up past number one.
I would rather have someone like Martamp make me a version that only puts out 10w that would be totally usable
I am starting off with a poweramp from Martin to go with my small rack, but I could see me having a deluxe version of something like his Goldstar for the shows if i chose to do them again as simple amp heads are a good choice for those shows.
-
I would buy it, but then i would have no room for a bed, or any other furniture. Or any eardrums.

I sense someone losing their sense of humour! PDT_008
Don't make me come over there, Mr Sensitive, and knock some sense into ya!!

But then again........ you would have the amp :D

No - sense of humour is still very intact
Would love to own that stack and so many more besides
Guess i am just on a mission at the moment
Anyway - finished paying for the Egnater today - had to do it before the exchange rate goes right down the toilet because our chancellor is such a f*cking idiot that he has to talk us into recession - idiot politicians!

I think TO is right.. the Feline I know only runs his marshall on 11 ;)
seriously though - your cab has insane 103db sensitive sidewinders... why not load your spare 1x12 with something having a stately 97db?
ignore me - i'm just trying to persuade you to keep it ;) but do i think the amp is very 'you'. good luck with the egnater!

Yes - real men play on 10 (at least) :D
Yeah the sidewinders do make anything you do twice as loud - ask Will PDT_042
Trouble is I simply love the sound as they are not scooped in the midrange like most celestions.
That amp is very me in a way as it is the same as Michael Schenker uses these days
But I have lusted for the Eggie for a while and will make that really work for me - will make me play more
Will have to invite you over to try it when it arrives

Haven't forgotten about the V90 by the way! Just waiting for an opportune moment.

You "we are always special" brits should have joined the Euro, guess the decision not to was much more stoopid than Gordon Brown. I think he is in a difficult position, I wouldn't want his job for sure.

Errrm ahhh no it's not me selling it. Just saw it on the site.

Yeah but Alistair Darling came out and said worst depression for 60 years and the pound loses 10-20% of its value overnight!
-
darling seems to be a bit of a puppet :(
the reason we have no euro in the uk is not because we think we are special, but many people are scared of it. i support the euro coming to the uk. i feel more like a european person than a sort of anglo-american.
as feline says - it seems like we should be more scared of our own chancellor. what an idiot!
-
I don't want the Euro because the Pound is my trusty old friend. It's our heritage.
-
If we were to swap to the Euro from the pound the vast amounts of personal debt in this country would probably sink the Euro.
-
Indy, no offence intended, but the dinosaurs are also our heritage, and they're dead now. We could discuss this for a long time, but I must say I'm pro-Euro, and becoming closer with Europe in geneal. We could have had Euros with the Queen's head on them - no problem with that at all. All the European countries lost a bit of their heritage too - the Franc, Lira, Deutschmark, Pesata etc etc were all famous currencies. With the USA becoming so agressive (Iraq, Kyoto), there are steps we should be taking together. We are one human race - it seems senseless to put up borders and act in this way (regarding terrorism and agressive US forign policy). Ok, borders cannot be destroyed overnight, but it is my belief that if Europe would be more united we would be taking greater steps in this direction.

Didn't Alistair Darling deny saying it the day after or something?

As much as i respect your opinion, I'm with Indy. It would be like going to all the real ale pubs in the UK and tearing out the taps of london pride or harveys and replacing them with heineken because heineken is better for the business.
Plus the euro has €500 notes, who needs that much money in a note.

Fair enough man, but I'm not at all sure it would be like that. You can still go to a small knipe in Germany and get a quality local brew, and you can still go to a cafe and France and sip some fine red wine. I'm proud of British real ale too! :)

Spies :)

The highest denomination pound note is worth about 10,000,000 or so to the bearer.
Who could possibly spend that anywhere on the high street?
-
thats because the bank of england needs to have as much in its own banks as it does out in the world, they print the 10,000,000 notes so that they dont need a massive room full of coinage to hold it all, as far as I'm aware it is held in a small (yet very well protected) safe.
-
I don't like the idea of the Euro due to the fact that it would lump our (failing) economy with that of Europes, including the ex Soviet bloc; which IMO is not a wise move. Europe will all fail or succeed together.
I'm sorry, but I don't like the EU for what it represents. The early principle of the EEC was too much for me.
Shouldn't have brought that up hunter ;)

It was more for the sake of a repute to AJDS's comment on the subject of the E500 note (I don't have a euro symbol on my keyboard.).

There's a lot more to it that just the currency, basically we need to ask ourselves if we want to be governed by people on mainland Europe who we have not, (to my knowledge) voted in. Already more than half our laws come from Europe and it's very easy to say 'lets join Europe' and naively give away our remaining self-governance but it would be impossible to ever get it back. The famous European Court of Human Rights has seen many a criminal in this country get away with it, and I would worry that eventually many of the idiosyncrasies that make us British would be ebbed away. I mean, it would be illegal to serve a pint for God’s sake!
We might not like the nutters we have in power at the moment but at least we have the option to vote them out!
The EU makes sense, we are a common market in a global marketplace. But do we really need to become one European Superpower? Is that not globalisation ?
The United States of Europe??
Hold on, I wouldn’t have to change my currency when I go to Spain, feck it, lets go Euro!!!
Shouldn’t this be in ‘Time out’ or something BTW?

I could manage I reckon

Aye, agreed. Where there's a will, there's a way... :)

The most sensible part of this thread ;)
and yes, where theres a Will, theres a way. I could do it!

Little late on this, personally I'm a little cynical after the assistance (or lack thereof) other countries offered (calling France & Germany) when the UK where part of the ERM and that was when they where bound to do so by several treaties
Additionally here are too many unellected and unaccountable bureaucrats imposing their will
Perhaps of there was some real reform the UK would be happier to be more european in attitude, but ATM it's almost as corrupt as the Italian governent
Anyway that's a nice looking Silver Jubilee buy both too big and expensive for me :(

Nice tolex

Assuming that celestion has a shop and would have a few thousand sidewinder speakers in stock

I love how a topic about a cheap amp turned into a discussion of European economy.
