Hi guys just a quick message to say how happy I am with the Mules recently fitted to my 72 Goldtop deluxe. At the last London guitar show the nice people at Bare Knuckle brought over a similar conversion ie a 70's deluxe robbed of mini humbuckers and fitted with Mules. Our demonstrator Dale Baker was bowled over by this guitar and wanted it badly as it sounded amazing through our WolfTone amps. After a refret and Mules added by Jonathon at Feline my Goldie is just as good. I have since tried other pickups in the Bare Knuckle range and we are really impressed, so much so that we are going to use guitars fitted with Bare Knuckles for all our demo guitars. We will be using a Feline strat clone with Apaches and hopefully a Tele with Brown Sugars, both of which really hit the spot for me. Thanks Tim and co for a great selection of British made pickups which make our British made amps sound out of this world!

Hi there, welcome to the forum!
i think its a good thing to see british luthiers, british pickup makers and british amp makers all working together to produce high-quality, unique products!

Hi Dave
Glad you like them! So that's people from Wolftone and Marshall and Matamp all using BKPs!
See you again

Welcome Dave, gald you're getting on well with them..................you did buy a particularly sexy set if I remember rightly 8)
-
Yeah welcome from me also- and me an Essex boy too.
-
nice you like em, I've got a bkp powered 72 deluxe gold top too, bkp-91s though, I'm not really a humbucker fan, J mascis school of thought.

Hey welcome! :drink:
Can you show us some pics of that 'sexy' guitar?

Tim - they were awesome . They were an aged set of nickel covered mules.
They looked as old as the guitar, and the sound was to die for - suweeeet!!! PDT_003
The guitar in question had a lot of potential and we found it with a refret and those fab pickups. It really made me realise how much I like the tone of the lower output sets - in spite of my love of 1980s crunchy rock sounds.
We are getting a Wolf Tone amp for our workshop/showroom, and will be having fun feeding BKP equipped guitars through it.
It does feel great to do doing the whole "made in UK" trip!!
I will also be trying to get some nice photos showing the three brands off together- I will post them as soon as I get anything tasty

Can someone pls enlighten me about the Wolftone amps? Especially the street price ...
-
I think its about £1000 for the head, I believe.
-
Can't remember the pricing but they're pretty good for a boutique amp...ie lots less than a (insert expensive brand name here)......
There's a site , the amps are all EL84 based, and sound great in a classic kind of way. Perfect for rock and blues, not heard them do metal though!
The guys have got some great demo guitarists - I had fun over at the'r stand at LGS....although I'm not quite sure if Tim has forgiven me for selling that particular set of pups to Dave - I think he hand his eye on them!

Twighlight Odyssey.
Shane at British Audio Service in Illinois is doing Wolftone in the States.
Check him out.

Tim,
All you have to do now is convince Paul Cornford to use Bare Knuckles while testing their amps out, and then it's domination of the UK built amp market! ;)
Excellent props, and an even better ad for the company. Top work Tim! Serves you right for making absolutely top notch pickups sold at a sensible price!

Prices are here on their website:

A Feline guitar fitted with Bare Knuckles through a Wolftone amp.
Now if someone can get a combo like that and upload soundclips, I'd be one of many who'd be delighted to hear them.
-
Oh man, those amps look cool! 8)
-
let's just say they're not to everyone's tastes...

Are you talking about aesthetics or sound?
I've tried one and have no complaints about the sound - anything from
Blues to Metal !
Just wish I could afford one right now.
-
Personally I don't likethe sound of El84s....but these amps still sound pretty good :!:
-
i just meant that those cab designs appeal to some people but not others...
props for bring different though, i realise that it is impossible to please everyone
-
They've got an ol Gibson vibe going on.........
