Hi Guys,
Quick question, what is the difference in sound between the MQ and the pigged MQ?
-
I think it's just the look...could be wrong!
-
I thought it was just the look but then thought if the MQ had a row of allen bolts instead of screws it might change the sound. I'm guessing the MQ pig looks like the Pig-90 but humbucker sized...
-
The MQ is a p90 in a humbucker size, the original Pig90 was a regular sized P90

True
This is how I see it
1. MQ = sound of original P-90 in humbucker size
2. Pig-90 = a mix between the Warpig and the Sinner single coil. Extremely high output. Dogear or soapbox size
3. MQ Pig = ????
Is the MQ Pig just the same sound as an MQ but with a pig cover? If yes, then is it possible to get a Pig-90 sound out of a regular size humbucker?

I think the Mississippi Pig is the same as the Pig90. Only the shape is different.
-
then choose which P90 -BKP 90/91/92

The mississipii queen with a camo cover is the same as a regular Mississippi queen. Its just the apperance tha is changed.

Whcih P90 is it closest to Steve?

The Mississippi Queen bridge is a BKP91, ALnico V powered P90, the neck MQ is underwound and powered by Alnico IV, as per usual we can custom tweak to requirements.Lovely sounding pickups and a great intro to P90 tone for those who up to now haven't be able to due the size of a P90.
