hello,
new guitar day.....
i got my new babe in the last week on tuesday...
its equipped with 2 bareknuckle rebel yell distressed pu...
and, i love it..
this guitar is a custom order i did, from forge guitars, germany...
here are some fresh pictures:
the colors change a little bit from picture to picutes, it was very hard to take these pictures because the light wasnt that great and due the bad weather, i couldnt make outside pictures of my beauty.
i knew the rebel yell pu befoer, i changed about a year ago the pickup in my ran randy rhoads from an sd to a bareknuckle, and the difference was a world imho.
so it became clear that i need to have bareknuckles in my new guitar aswell.
in the next month issues of the german "gitarre&bass" magazine will be a review of my forge embrace, i´m very curious about it :)
thanks to tim for making this absolute great pickups..
cheers

Now, given my tastes, I really shouldn't like the look of that... but it's gorgeous!!
Great pics as well.
Welcome to the forum :D

Unusual shape, but it's really really gorgeous!! I bet those RYs sing!!
Love it, thanks very much for sharing :)

Beautiful wood and finishing !
Hope she rocks!
-
I like it
Interesting body contours
What's under the screws on the last fret?
I want more photos
What's the neck joint like and what's the shape of the headstock?
-
i guess that would be a spokewheel truss rod cover.
nice guitar!
-
hey
thank you all for your nice responses so far, i will post more photos soon, i want to make some outdoor pictures, i hope the weather will be good in some of the next days..
to answer the question, as WezV guessed, thats the trussrod cover.
cheers

Not seen one before but I really like it.
Very cool the way the binding intrudes onto the body surface and trails off. I am also a big fan of no fret markers on the face of fretboards, personaly I think it gives a sense of freedom (I have always beena bit odd)

Very nice! :D
Is that a PRS bridge? I didn't think they let anyone else use their parts.

But you can buy *ahem* replacement *ahem* parts from them!
Very pretty guitar, btw.

I never liked the look of those forges, especially that headstock - blech. But, congratulation anyways.
EDIT: Those pickups look ace though. Top notch job on the distressing.

Your Forge is very interesting to be sure. I've seen pictures of them before but have not ever been in the presence of a Forge guitar. The natural unstained edge is somewhat reminiscent of my Dean Soltero.
How much does she weigh?
-
Exquisite!
Truly gorgeous, love that type of carving, hoodlebug from this forum does similar.
-
Very impressive-the finish looks superb.
-
that looks amazing. :)
-
Love it. Maybe this is a guitar that all BKP users can agree on! The carving reminds me of the Dean Soltero.

Yep. Edit "Maybe this is a guitar that all BKP users, whose user names don't begin with an 'O', can agree on"

Do we know if Oli likes it, or not?
-
I like it, looks awesome. And i agree on it reminding people of the Dean Soltero.
-
I really don't like the shape, and it's much too bling bling for my taste, but I bet it's a great playing guitar and that you're very happy with it. :)
-
Congratulations!! Going to where no man has gone before and in good company( BKP ). I like it!!!
-
Very nice, I think the body finish & pickups complement each other perfectly. What's the headstock look like?

@ broken cord
honestly, i dont know how much she weights because we dont have weighing machine at home ;), but the guitars weight is quite light, similar to my esp eclipse.. gladly
In my conception for this guitar was the weight a major point, because playing a heavy guitar for hours isnt very comfortable (at least for me), and i didnt want a compromise in the sound and tone of the guitar, so we´d choose cedro for the body, and a maple top, and for the neck also maple.
cheers

Nope I think its ugly as well! I mean its well done obviously but the shape/carve does absolutely nothing for me.

Congrats! I like the body shape and carving.I don't like the pu's rings (same goes for the wood-cover on the knobs) but it's easy to fix :)
-
I think it's stunning.
If you like it or not if you walked, pass it in a shop you would have to take a second look to see what it is, it's not a guitar that you can just ignore.

Here is one of my Soltero to compare the body cut.(http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c128/JSalch/IMG_2739-1.jpg)

I like it, the body sculpting and especially the headstock show that some real thought has gone into the design to come up with something new. The workmanship looks flawless too, bet it plays great.
I'm not crash hot on wooden pickup rings or knobs, I'll never see the appeal, but thats an easy fix.
Since it's a custom job, I'd change the top curve where the body meets the neck so that's it's more rounded like a Les Paul (if I was ordering one, which I'm not, so it's entirely hypothetical).
-
I love that quilting. Great looking guitar. Very well done sir!

Thats funny, the pu rings and the wood coverings on the nobs are the only thing i like
