Can you put a normal p90 in a dog ear cover

the baseplate is slightly different  the dog ear ones have tabs that line up with the mounting holes on the cover.. but you can have any P-90 made with a dogear cover or can swap baseplates relatively easily - but it will hold in place just fine with the soapbar baseplate anyway

Yep, as long as the pickup is properly supported from below - if the cavity's a bit too deep it'll need some cushioning.

if its fully hollow you will need dog ear baseplates and covers or the P-90 would fall into the body.  I did have some casino style ones with nickle covers that tim made... and the online shop allows you to select chrome dogears

personally i would leave the hofner just as it is!!

Thats what I told him has just spent about £200 getting neck sorted.....did point him to wez and feline (but chose a local) but hey
