Title: Pignose travel guitar
Post by: fbloke on September 26, 2008, 10:06:35 AM
Hello everyone,

Has anyone bought a Pignose travel guitar?  If so, please can you answer the following questions:

1. Is the scale length similar to a regular guitar in terms of fret spacing?  I don't want to freak out my muscle memory or hand/eye co-ordination.

2. Does it fit in hand luggage on most airlines?

Thanks,

Mike

Website says 24 1/4" scale length so slightly shorter than a Gibson. Looks like a great fun guitar and probably a very useful thing to have around the house. Good thing I don't have any spare cash.

i can recommend a spirit by steinberger or hohner 'cricket bat' instrument as a great low/medium cost travel guitar. 25.5" scale length, and with a BKP ceramic set you'll have a tone machine as well.

I find swapping scale lengths doesn't matter as much as you think. All three of my electrics are different scale- 25.5, 24.75 and 24 inches, got very little problems swapping between any of them. Takes maybe a minute or two if i jump from a tele to my mustang though, so give it a try and see for yourself.
