Im talking realistically, things you need/want/plan on getting soonish...
im not really talking about i plan on getting a £3000 custom esp when im rich.. just the things for your current rig etc
i need:
-Neck SD APH-1 gold coverer
-a set of pickups for metal.. PK or Pig probably
I plan on getting soon:
(a looper setup.. this would be in a switchable loop infront of my amp and just use my amp on clean, dist would be from a pedal as would all other effects so they can all run into the looper then my amp. with it being a looper setup im would probably want digital effects over nice smooth analogue just to retain as much clarity as possible)
-a looper pedal
-a digitech whammy/EHX hog (but the hog is very very expensive so probably the whammy instead)
-a delay pedal for use with the looper maybe a boss DD-5/6/7
-a phaser pedal for use with the looper possibly a small stone/boss phaser/
I could do with:
-TC electronics G-maj for effects on my amp + midi controller
-
Theres nothing I really need or even want right now actually. Buying new gear is such a hassle cos you have to do loads of research into whats good, whats not etc, I cant be arsed  Wouldnt mind a 4x12 but I have no real use for one as I'm not in a band at the minute.
-
I need to get a total of 3 guitars wired (Cigar Box, Patrick Eggle, Ibanez Firebird) as well as getting the Eggle polished (which it's off to do at the minute).
Then other than lessons, I think I'll be fully set up............... for the time being anyway 8)
-
i'm the happiest i've ever been with my tone and guitars. sort of have vague ideas of experiment:
i'd like to try my thiele cabs with sidewinders
i'd like to try an Xotic BB boosting my rig
some NOS 12AT7 would be good to experiment with
some more leads
a sansamp character british
get round to fitting a trilogy neck to my hohner
sort out pickups for the feline
i'm putting together a couple of guitars too. need to get a VH2 for one of them... and i need to be more patient.
might invest in an explorer
would be nice to have a real 70s V
as you see - its more vague-erys. the two parts guitars and a VH2 are on the immediate shopping list though.
-
I need a set of BKPs for my PRS CU22, a HBE Paradrive OD/Boost and a HBE Germania Treble Booster.
The only other things I need are setups on a few guitars, other than that, I'm pretty GAS free atm
-
oooook, how long do you have?
AC / RC Xotic booster
MXR delay
Possibly MXR flanger, undecided on that
Sansamp PSA - can wait
And maybe a Wobo looper thing rather than pedalboard
Martamp 2x10 - being organised
Bogner 4x12 - being organised
More Sidewinders :D
-
* An Explorer of some sort or another Carvin in the next few weeks hopefully
* Power supply for my pedals
That's mainly it. When I get my driving licence and a job I'm going to look into going back to half stack so probably,
* Orange 2 x 12 or 4 x 12
* Marshall JCM800 or Mesa DC
-
I need a set of BKPs for my PRS ...
The only other things I need are setups on a few guitars, other than that, I'm pretty GAS free atm
Me too - my PRS is one of my few BKP-free guitars (something I intend to put right soon).
No other major purchases planned but have several things need doing to various guitars - one disadvantage of a large collection is the amount of maintenance required & small jobs that crop up...
Of course I'm always open to an opportunity - another amp would be nice & there's no such thing as "enough" when it comes to US Jacksons :)
-
I don't actually need anything...
But I have vague plans to:
A) Get myself some sort of 62-type telecaster (Jap, MIM, who knows?) in "Olympic White", snot-green three-ply scratchplate, rosewood board, and then BKP it with Yardbirds...
B) Get myself some sort of mini digi-recorder (I was looking at the Boss Micro BR thingy)
These really are luxuries though
-
Want.
A Tele with P90's the only one is a Squire though and I don't want to mail order it and no local shops have one.
More distortion/overdrive stomp boxes
Acoustic.
Thats about it for Gassing at the mo.
-
A 1x12 cab with a low vintage voiced speaker (can't afford a Celestion Blue) for my Nano Head
Some mellower Pickups in my Berlin
Some lessons (I deserve them)
-
RME fireface 800 is my next imminent purchase.
-
I realy want that emerald lion!
More realistically a boost pedal possibly blackstar.
A 2x12 with either blues or greenbacks.
Bkps for my les Paul, mules or mqs.
-
Oh, I want a 2x12 too.
-
The rest of the parts to finish building my two new Warmoth/Fender Strats.
Then:
Korg Pitchblack.
Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde.
Tech 21 Trademark 30, possibly.
And some BKPs for various guitars.
-
*) Korg Pitchblack really soon.
and these not so soon, but red marked on my list:
*) an VHT Amp, but still i dont know which one..damn...
*) A ribbon mic
*) an acoustic guitar by boucher guitars, most likely the "Indiana Goose Studio"
cheers

Currently saving/selling stuff for a Blackmachine B6.
Would love a B2, but I'm too impatient for the 2 year+ waiting list.
-
I've just ordered:
* Tele bridge pickup for my Squier to go with the neck TV Jones
* a V1 valve for my new Martamp Deluxe :D as the 12AY7 has gone pop :(
I'm hankering after a PRS McCarty with a maple top, but I think I'll stick to the Korina and try a few tweaks (pickup heights, pole pieces, strings, plectrums etc) to get a little more 'cut'.
After just sorting out my finances, I'm pretty much done for the immediate future. I've spent far too much recently and the old credit crunch is starting to bite a bit....
-
Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde.
I might be able to help you there...I am selling mine. I've replaced it with a Route 808 and a Guvnor.
It's the V2 model and nearly mint.
PM me if you're interested.
-
An ESP LTD EC-400 in Tobacco burst by the end of October. Can't wait! :D

I've been rather interested in one myself. Have you used it?
-
A Jamvox
I've been rather interested in one myself. Have you used it?
No - but it looks great fun.
If it's half as good as it's said to be it'll be money well spent (£150)
-
8 string pup for the current 8 string project
Warpig to replace the Nailbomb in my Ran
Nailbomb to get a nice cover, possibly camo or distressed, to then go into another guitar which is yet to move from the design stage :)
Tuner (perhaps korg pitchblack)
-

Jamvox for me too I think. A field recorder at some point (maybe) and a semi acoustic guitar in the next year.I was looking at a 335 but I thiink I'll go for a 339.
-
I need: nothing.
I plan to get: - A Keeley compressor
- A set of replacement single coils for my USA Strat, but I have no idea what.
- A Warmoth Strat with a Floyd Rose, much like this one - crying out for VHIIs, I'm thinking:
I want: - For some reason, having tried one again recently (I didn't originally like it), through a decent speaker cab, a Marshall JVM.
- I also want a Mesa Dual Rectifier, to complete my 3-amp rig - Express 5:50 (which I own) JVM and Dual Rec.

-
Mr Mars, I believe? That is an awesome looking Strat! :D
It is, isn't it? The only difference is mine will have a rosewood board - I can't get on with maple boards.
-
You going for the big headstock too? I'm crazy about big headstock Strats at the moment.
-
Well, my electric Ukulele comes tomorrow :lol:and I'd like one of the newer Diezel cabs to replace mine/shall sell mine when I do so, I want too much though so need to save money abit more :o
-
I NEED some BKPs (Mule+MQ), a classic vibe tele (if i try it and like it), and another amp (something a bit more american flavoured - I'm thinking Fender Tweed Deluxe Reverb).
However I'm a student. It'll never happen.
-

You'll like the CV Tele - there's nothing to not like!
And Fender didn't make a Tweed Deluxe Reverb. There's the Tweed Deluxe, or the Blackface/Silverface Deluxe Reveb. Unless you go for a custom build of course! ;)
-
I NEED some BKPs (Mule+MQ),
Would that be to the style of that fine specimen in your avatar?
-
I plan to buy some new tube amp for at home as soon as I finally got an appartment/flat and bought a car (nothing fancy). Most likely a VW car and a Marshall, Laney or Krank amp.
-
I plan to get a Whammy pedal, a Barber Tone Press and a Korg Pitch Black within the next 6 months-ish. More long term plans are some sort of Tele and an ES-335 or some other sort of hollow body.
-
You going for the big headstock too? I'm crazy about big headstock Strats at the moment.
I doubt I'll go for the big headstock, simply because Warmoth have more standard headstock Strat necks in the showcase, and I'm looking to keep the time frame on this one pretty short if possible. I want a neck and body 'off the shelf', to cut the build time right down. It's also the reason I don't want anything fancy, just straight maple/rosewood.
-
Sorry guys, i have to add this to it under want.

SG of some sort
New head (JCM800 2203 original)
-
For the first time, possibly ever, I don't have anything that I desperately want extremely urgently, if I can find something to do the job I would like a high gain amp that can still sound it's best at home recording levels, so a low wattage doofer, but obviously nigh on every manufacturer seems to be convinced that if you play metal you always require 100w +. I've been tempted to look at a Cornford Hellcat but obviously that's still not gonna be playable at full tilt without some serious ear hammering.
But, I'm happy with this state of things, as I keep sticking money into my gear fund account every month anyway like I do if I'm saving for something specific, so hopefull when something gets me all excited, I'll have the money to get it.

I was thinking of something between the '57 tweed circuit and the '65 blackface circuit.
Tweed's a bit too dirty, blackface is a bit too clean, lol.
Sorta want the treble from the tweed and the bass from the blackface

I NEED some BKPs (Mule+MQ),

Alas nay; I don't even own that guitar! I just played one on denmark street once and fell in love with it :P

I thought that may be the case! I recently stumbled over they're website and fell in love. Never even played one!
But now you've just added another reason to my list of reasons to go to London.
-
From my list in the previous GAS thread, I got the EH MicroPOG and Korg Pitchblack.
I still want a Keeley Compressor, Fuzz Factory and a distortion pedal (either OCD, BB Preamp or Box of Rocks).
I'll get a JamVOX ASAP, it looks like just my sort of thing :D
On the guitar front, if I could find a really good 335 I'd buy it.
-

Makes sense to me. I'm still hoping to find a nice Fender neck for mine, but if I end up with a Warmoth I'm resigned to a small headstock, I'd rather buy from the showcase than wait for a custom order.
-
Anyone interested there's a fine duesenberg 49er...(I want but can't afford) second hand but perfect for £450 in electromusic with case (not on website yet though) also had a 70's hagstrom like what zappa used
Normaly have nothin worth buyin in
-
Korg Pitchblack. But that will have to come @ Christmas, that is if my coutry doesn't go into a Great Depression before Christmas. Otherwise i am too broke to buy anything, being a college student and all. Plus, i like to keep a little money in the bank as emergency money (non-guitar related emergencies ).
-
feck this, credit crunch, i'm selling up!!!
-
Need................G-System.
Want?,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Blackmachine B7, B2 and F8.
And a Herbert.
:D 8)
-
I want a custom built Telecaster. Which is probably what I'll end up building myself.
Other than that.. Hmm. What would be nice..
A VHT Deliverance through an Orange 2x12 Black Cab
Please.
Oh and Nailbombs with my Telecaster. YUS!
That's my goal alright, for the next few years.

There are a few big 'stock Strat necks in the Showcase, but they all seem to have quite garish, un-Stratlike inlays on them, which puts me off. I've always found block inlays on Strats to look a bit wrong.

The off-putting factor for me is that all the CBS necks in the Showcase are the Standard Thin shape. Which I'm sure I could just about live with, but given the choice I'd far prefer a '59 Roundback or SRV.

Hehe, that's the thing that doesn't worry me about them! I love the standard thin!

I'm after a set of Stormy Mondays for my 335 replica.
One day I'd like to get my hands on a VH4, but I think that's dependant on a lottery win.

haha. I was wondering what was going on GAS-wise with you Rich !! A 335 replica eh ? I'm sure you could get a VH-4 if you sold a few bits of stuff to get a "deposit" together.

I don't think you've seen the 335 (Tokai) have you? It's the first 'decent' guitar we bought and it's the only one that doesn't have BK's in it, and boy does it show. I'd never sell any of the gear we have now, it's all 'keeper' stuff. I'll just have to save for the next 20 years :) Or maybe remortgage ;)
-
now I want a Martamp/Fender

PMSL!

yeah after I get a 4x12 today

;)

*L* is a sweet cab
-
I could never be bothered to post in this thread (the list could go on forever), but i guess i will now. :)
1) Ibanez of some form, not decided 100% yet.
2) BKPs for the said Ibanez
3) New speakers (most probably V30s)
4) ReezaFRATzitz Pedal
5) A noise supressor of some form.
6) A 7 string guitar, haven't looked into it much yet, but perhaps a Warmoth.
7) A decent tuner
8 ) New monitors
Probably a lot more, but those are the latest... :)
-
I think it's about time to stop talking the talk, and start walking the walk. I need to spec up a custom guitar, as there's nothing off the shelf that quite fulfils my current desires.
Oh, and I paid for a bloody murder 4 months ago and am still awaiting delivery (and indeed manufacture) of that. I think my rig is then pretty much finished...

-
Now I'm wanting a strat! An American one, with nitro laquer.
-
Well, I gave in to G.A.S a little while ago ( hopefully I've found a buyer for my trusty Strat to fund this ) - and bought myself the pair of EVM12L Classics I have been lusting after for some time . Thanks to Woogie for guidance on that one ! :D
My only dilema now ( as I am not currently gigging ) - is whether to put them in my solidly built Laney 2 x12cab , so I can have full external access to serial / parallel switching and use it as an independent reference cab for everything else I've got;
OR
Put them in my fully flightcased ( i.e. well protected ) '98 Fender Blackface 'Twin Amp' - with an ultra clear sounding quad of N.O.S 7581a output valves I have been saving.
If I was gigging, they would have just been put in whatever got used the most / could fit into available transport.
Choices, choices !
