whatever i would like to know which pickup humbucker from bare knuckle is very smooth and warm in neck

Post by: steve on September 22, 2005, 07:27:04 PM: I can recommend the Crawler neck pickup,very smooth and warm with a very woody natural tone.Does great blues and really sustains when driven.I have not yet heard the neck Version of the Mule,but i have the bridge Mule and it is incredibly warm and smooth.

For a really warm, vocal tone but with lots of definiton I would suggest the Stormy Monday.
For a little more power then the Mule.Both of these have a sweet vintage tone.
For a high gain, singing lead tone the Miracle Man Alnico V neck pickup cannot be beaten!

I hadn't said my twopenny worth yet :lol:

I love the Abraxas IV for the sweet sound, also the Stormy Monday is good too in a more bluesy way.

I know you had said humbucker, but big steve is right, the MQ will also give you a very sweet neck tone.

Absolutely, I was testing one last night before dispatching to Rooster's Luke Potashnick, gorgeous tone 8) !

DC15K.............well if you want to go that hot then the Alnico V Miracle Man neck is an out and out winner, the Warpig neck is great too............very fluid, singing overdriven tone.

What are the differences between the Warpig neck and Miracle Man neck? I had thought they were pretty similar. (Or is it that the MM neck is actually still using a ceramic magnet like the MM bridge, while the Warpig neck is Alnico?)

The Miracle Man neck uses an Alnico V magnet.

Post by: Tim on September 24, 2005, 03:31:29 PM: No the Nailbomb neck is a totally different pickup altogether wound with plain enamel. The Warpig neck is based around the Miracle Man V neck pickup and the twin allen bolts deliver the same bottom end performance as the Warpig bridge.
Having just finished a couple of hours practice on my Foster LP with a MM V neck, I absolutely adore it's tone both dirty and clean.For such a high gain humbucker it's amazing how it performs in the neck slot, it's so clear and articulate!

Post by: PhilKing on September 24, 2005, 09:30:12 PM: Thanks Tim. I just finished the Explorer with Warpig and Mississippi Queen. It was a bitch to rewire but was worth it.

I had to play Iron Man, Warpig, NIB and Back Sabbath - the pickup made me :twisted:

But the reason I put this here is that the Mississippi Queen works great in the neck with the Warpig. They are very balanced and it gives such a creamy single coil sound. Now I just have to find a hum free spot in the house to record some things! It is not as bad as the Strats, but I have a very noisy house.

i need a smooth warm but high pickup in neck :D
