Well I've been getting sick of humping my 8U rack around lately so I decided to get myself a head, easier to carry and a lot easier on my neck as I had a trapped nerve years ago which still pains me.
Today I took delivery of an Engl Powerball and standard 4x12 ( I hear they sound cr@p with Marshalls).
This thing is a monster, only had it turned up in the house but bloody hell it screams, it chunks, it sparkles and it sings ...IT'S A MONSTER !!!
So many tones to be had especially with all the bass boost buttons etc, you can get any tone out of this thing, plus it looks stunning too.
Just ordered the Z11 midi interface so that I can control it all through my Rocktrom Intellifex and MidiMate floorboard, ordered from Germany and saved a few quid too.
Anyway, I'm off to play some more
And by the way Tim, these Cold Sweats sound exactly like they should through this rig, I couldn't be happier !!

I remember playing one of those a couple of years ago and being impressed almost to the point of purchase!
Nice rig!

Cool. 8) Can we expect some clips of your Cold Sweat loaded guitar through that monster?

We were going to record this weeks band practice but I'm not sure if I'll take this as I have no footswitch yet.
Guitar is still making way too much noise too although the pickups do sound good, if I touch the pickups, jack socket or selector switch the noise goes ?????

Just have to practice your Holdsworth licks then ;)

to my relatively inexperienced ears, it sounds like you could do with having a look at the grounding in your guitar.
those ENGLs look really nice, i'm not so much of a high gain player though, so i'm hankering after a THD. could be a while though...

Awesome looking beasts aren't they..................I only got the little 50watt Screamer combo but the look is exactly the same, pure Rammstein.
Dave at Oxford Guitar Gallery was telling me that those metal grills cost £125 on there own..........the combo grill that is, so lord knows how much that 4x12 grill costs.
I'm extremely happy with mine........don't think I've practised so much for years  Haven't found a bad tone yet and they're extremely well thought out amps.
Sounds like an earth fault in your guitar somewhere...........check it has an earth for starters!!Those '70s LPs didn't have them and it'll buzz like a swarm of bees without one especially near your new rig! I've had to fit earth wires to all my '70s LPs as none had them.

Looks pretty good to me . Crank her up, lets all have a listen

Definately a stage amp....stick that hunk o'evil in the corner of my bedroom and I wouldn't be able to sleep!
-
And neither would the neighbours, probably.

That looks killer! Cold Sweats too! Ohhh man that has got to sound incredible. Bung some clips up! :D
