Just took delivery of my new unfinished tele parts. I’m just wandering about finishing. I’ve decided Tru-Oil will be the best way to go but think the maple neck may look a little white and anemic. I’ve heard that you can use an amber stain can be used prior to the top finish but this is only available from the US and is pretty expensive.
Does anybody know what is available in the UK to make the neck look classy. I could use Nitro cans but would prefer dye over oil.
The Tele body from allparts looks great btw. Off centre joint 2 piece quality piece of swamp ash. I plan to finish it directly with Tru Oil.
