hey guys i'm pretty interested in this amp, i'm looking for an amp than can do the death metal thing (but with more mids) and can do other things like Racer X like songs and can clean up pretty well. Can this amp do that? or is there something else for under £600 more suited for the sound im going for?

Actually for Death Metal, Lepermeesa had a 5150 head, thats as metal as you can get... he might still have it for sale!

Cash Converters in Liverpool had a GH50L amp and cab for reasonable money.. (i was drunk but i think it was just about £400 for both) might be worth phoning them\travelling to have a look?

I've already got a JCM900 mate, i'm just not too happy with it. I've heard some good things about the 5150, but i've never been able to find one for a reasonable price

I had a GH100L - great amp, good sounds, a bit noisy - but cr@pped out everytime I turned it up full...not that you'd do that very often... :twisted:

I've heard good things about the GH50L, i was considering one myself and the only issues that were raised about it were the noise and cr@pping out at peak volumes.
Very underrated and not widely used amp. signature sounds for ya?

Opeth use Laney, tho their sound is far from your typical death metal tone.
