I just got back from seeing the documentary film Anvil! The Story Of Anvil at the London Film Festival. It was introduced, surprisingly, by Keanu Reeves, followed by the director, Sacha Gervasi. Gervasi is a British guy who ran away from home as a 15 year old to hang out with Anvil on tour, then got back in touch with them 20 years later - he was amazed they were still going and decided to make a film about them.
The film is great - extremely funny, but also rather heartwarming to see these guys in their fifties who love each other like brothers and never gave up on their dreams even after nearly 30 years.
Anyway, we were expecting the director back for a Q&A at the end - which we got, together with a mini set from Anvil themselves, onstage at the Odeon West End ! It was brilliant to see an all-ages cinema audience standing, clapping and singing "Metal on Metal"!!! One of the coolest things I've ever seen in my life. :D

That sounds like a great experience!
My band opened for Anvil at Lamours waaaay back before TO was even a twinkle in my eye. PDT_008

Wow Philly that sounds like a good night.
The story on Sky was around only 10 minutes long, but long enough to show it looked like an interesting film.

Man that's awesome. I just saw that movie on my recent trip in the plane (thanks BA). What a sad story and at the same time amazing how passionate they are and remain.
Do you think the movie and PR around it helped them make a more serious living out of their music?

I loved it. I saw it on the plane (thanks to BA as well) on the way to Hong Kong. Good film.

I think it has, but I do wonder if it'll just be a short term thing.
