Title: Loner with SG and RiffRaffs
Post by: hunter on October 22, 2008, 08:30:37 PM

Ok, one go, so the bends are out here and there, but had loads of fun with the new Axe FX firmware (new parameter in amp section: "THUMP").

SG/RRs are also not the standard combination for this kind of Gary Moore tone, but it gives the song an interesting edge I find.

Enjoy ...

Sounds nice that, Hunter  :)

How are you finding the AxeFX live?

From the one gig I had I can say it cut through extremely well, it was loads of fun playing and I had much less stress switching, as usually it was just one switch to go from one sound to another, as opposed to the old days with amps and pedals.

Also several people, incl. the guitarists from the support band, came up on stage to comment on the tone and stood around my rig scratching their heads, so guess it wasn't too bad overall :O)

Cool  :)

There's no way I'm switching from valves though!

I like that.

Where did you get the backing track from?  Did you make it up?

Mark.

I am OK with what I do. I don't think I am exceptionally good, I am lacking speed and technique and theory a lot. I find it's just not enough to have a few chops and good bends and make some cool noises as I do.
