Title: is it alright to leave a guitar with a snapped string while on holiday?
Post by: JDC on October 28, 2008, 06:04:41 PM
I snapped a string the other day, the high C (C standard tuning), I've got new string but I don't want to put it in on yet since I'm on holiday all next week

it will be fine won't it? I'm just worried about twisting the neck, I put it in drop tuning to even the tension out across the neck

The high string on a guitar has the 2nd least amount of tension (the B string, or the G in your case with C tuning), it's not going to be an issue unless the guitar is left in a sauna, or right next to a radiator :)

Don't worry about it, and enjoy your holiday, make sure to bring us all back something nice :)

It'll be fine, don't let it ruin your holiday!
I've left guitars completely unstrung for longer than that.

And do the honourable thing and replace the whole set when you get back - replacing one string just seems weird   :?
