Hi, I was planning to get a Mule set for a Guild Bluesbird, which can be described as a cross between a Les Paul and a 335. Any ideas on the differences between the Alnico 5 Mule compared to an Alnico 4 Mule? Neck will be Alnico 4.

A5 is brighter and will handle shiteloads of gain.
my Mules are both A4 and I can get pretty much anything I want from them except metal (I have my Explorer and EMGs for that).

Hey Does anyone know how the Mule AV would compare with the Angus Young Pickup. For Gibson pickups Id say that its the best they have, and it did well with lots of distortion. Like whats the DC resistance of that one, and the AV Mule?

No idea about the Gibson Angus Young.
I have an A5 and an A4 mule, and Riff Raffs.
The DC of the A5 mule is a bit less than the A4.
The A5 mule is a great pickup. Like an A4 with more bite, I'm a big fan of it. The A4 sounds more vintagey though, and has advantages. I made a comparison post about this at some point in the past. The A5 mule has bite, and is a bit more modern sounding when clean. the inbetween position is really nice too, nice quack caused by the A5/4 mix. great dynamics.

In fact, the guitar you see in my avatar has an A5 mule bridge and an A4 mule neck. I can play ANYTHING with this guitar, and it sounds absolutely excellent.

definitely classic metal/hard rock stuff. that stuff is bread and butter to the A5 Mule... mind you, the A4 variant does that really well too. that style is basically what i play.
i haven't actually tried 5 semitone detuned br00talz, so can't qualify my "ANYTHING" statement 100%, but vintagey pickups are meant to be good for lower tunings. i've tried it from jazz to metallica gain levels and its always been amazing sounding.
