Yes, it is that time, well not yet but soon, Christmas!
Got anything GAS related for Christmas?
-
Still planning my custom! I'm gassing for exotic woods :D
-
I'm long past the age where I get any decent Christmas presents. Unless I buy them myself.
-
Providing I get the amp situation sorted before then I'll get either a 12 string acoustic or another Charvel.
-
I'm having my L.P re-finished so that will be mine, not really wanting anything badly at the moment (for a change!!).
-
Current gwEm GAS status:
Want
GASsing for a strat (SSS, CBS headstock, maple board, light body colour, ideally 22 fret). I'm a bit torn though still, who knows what the outcome will be there. I'm sure I'll do some work on it if and when I get it.
A Tech21 British character series is on the list too.
No change
My rig is exactly where I want it to be - nice selection of pedals (crunchbox, RC boost, treble boost, pitch black tuner), great head (marshall 2204), and fine speakers (ev12l mesa boogie theiles). Nothing at all to change there!
Working on
Experimenting with a portable rack set up which I might very likely immediately sell on if I don't like it.
Trying some EMG pickups for a bit of variation
Jazzmaster (VH2 planned)
Another Steinberger (not priority, may take years - painkiller planned, moving cold sweats to red spirit)
Epi Explorer (again, not priority - i got it because it was really cheap, rebel yell planned)
Selling
May sell the rack as above
May sell my H&K Cream Machine
May sell my scumback 1x12
Definately sell my silver Hohner G3T
-
ok, i appear to own a strat as of right now :/
no longer sure if this is a good thing
-
I'm hoping the Bloody Murder I paid for in May will arrive before Christmas... aside from that, my set-up is now complete and I am GAS-free!

O sick! Those things have the brightest LEDs! YOU MUST PROVIDE CLIPS!
-
err its not guitar related but i'm scrounging together some cash for a new Sax...
-
Hmm, I thinks just a Korg Pitchblack would be nice.
Treating myself to a Bogner cab though (on order) so I should be happy enough :)
-

Still happy with mine :D
-
I'm GASsing for nowt for Chrimbo :o
-
My List
A) Calibrated set of Mother's Milk and a Crawler in my Ibanez 540
B) Big frets put in to my worn out LP Studio
C) Someone to pay for them
D) Maybe the Exotic BB+ (not sure if it's worth it as I already have the AC+. Might try and swap it with someone just to change the pedals a bit.)
-
I'm GASsing for nowt for Chrimbo :o
Mr Twinfan. Past behaviour is a predictor of future behaviour.
Therefore, I don't believe your present state of mind will last very long at all.
-
I was giving serious thought to importing a few Jacksons - either 2 KV2s or a KV2 & an RR1 and also maybe getting another Engl.
But now the £ has tanked against both the $ & € it's not a particularly good time to do either :(
So I have something else in mind instead. Probably won't be for Christmas though... 8)
-
Nothing that can afford or someone can buy me.....also happy with amps, guitars and my current purchase matamp 4x12
-
'tis true m'lud! I have nothing on the 'wanted' list at the moment - no guitars, no amps, no pedals.
-
I've preordered a Blackstar HT-5 8)
-
I've preordered a Blackstar HT-5 8)
Do you think it would be as good as a minimat?
-
I reckon it'll be nicer...
-
I just wait for 6.1 firmware upgrade of the Axe, as it will contain the CAE SE 3+ preamp, who could have a nicer present, for free :O)
On the serious side, I would like a
Natural Explorer
Gold or Copper Top Les Paul
A Semi (339, 335 or a PRS or Hamer of some sorts)
An Anderson Atom (dream on, dude)
White Charvel like the 80s Gary Moore one ...
-
An Anderson Atom (dream on, dude)
Oh yes, nice thought! :D
I'm relatively GAS free at the moment, but there are lots of mods planned for my existing guitars.
-
I myself am quite limited cause I'm at Uni I must refrain from buying anything. But I mostly want to sell everything that I want to sell and replace it with something of better quality.
-

Couldn't say - I'll be interested to find out.
Should definitely be more versatile.
-
Framus 2x12
2x K100s
Agile Septor 7
Schecter Loomis 7
Set of Painkillers
Big Dog E002
Ibanez Acoustic
Any of the above...
-
Gassing for my Mesa Dual Rec. I should have the cash by Christmas
Also really wanting a set of C'pigs :snipe:
-
i would if i could make up my darn mind...
-
A very smart, beautifull and nice blonde :D
A 'custom' Flying V Custom:

I'm long past the age where I get any decent Christmas presents. Unless I buy them myself.
This year from my birthday I got only a t-shirt from my dad...
(must say that I got a refrigerator, clothes washing machine and oven from dad, mom, step-dad about 10 days before my birthday because I moved to a apartment that had no forniture... kind of I wouldn't move to a decent place without that help, the last apart. was terrible)
-
I want two Agile guitars (Septor 727 and an Intrepid) and a Fractal Axe-FX. Then I think I'll be pretty happy on the gear front, though I imagine when I get my BKPs in I'll probably want some more of those, too.
-

how old are you man you can't be as old as the Fields guy in your photo
-
hehe........I'd be gassing for......
1-A custom Legra
2-New Vox VT amps
3-a new tele with torres buzkut pickups
4-a lovely lass to spend cold winter nights with
haha, can't say much else
-
Not guitar related really. I have all i feel i deserve on guitar, until i become more accomplished.
However, i do have some other things in mind:

Eventually i would like to get the pitch black tuner, but for now i will stick to the cheap korg handheld i have.
-
mmm,
christmas for me will go one of 2 ways depending if I have a job or not (should find out a couple of weeks before xmas)
no job = xmas cancelled :(
job = Suhr S3 in trans black + a new amp. I have been running a stiletto 1x12 but want something more modern, if I go down the recto route I will buy second and keep the stiletto, if I get something similar to the stiletto, like a splawn nitro I will sell the mesa. :D

Pretty nice! I've allways been a Meinl/Paiste fan though.

Well my birthday is two days before so I hope I get at least one present, lol.. or just money I suppose.

bah! humbug!
:)
-
I dont reckon I'll be getting much for xmas - there isnt really anything I want anyway! Except some nice monitors, but my parents wont spend that much for xmas.
-

A phrase I use very often at this time of year. Especially when bloody Cratchit expects the whole day off on Dec 25th.
-
A very smart, beautifull and nice blonde :D
Already have one of those

Does she has a sister? :D
-
*L* quite a few..but may be a tad too young
-
Hmm, most of what I'm after at the moment (new amp, new guitar) is rather outside the price bracket I could legitimately ask anyone to fork out. Although I'm toying with the idea of a wireless system…
-

Introduce me when they're 18...

Are you a drummer too? Paiste has some nice stuff, their hand hammered stuff seems to rule ass. Ideally i would have all Istanbul cymbals, but they are $%ing expensive! Someday maybe :)
-

Yarrrrr, and Istanbul are awesome, but frighteningly expensive!
I wanna get a Big Dog E002 for christmas this year, they're built pretty much identical to Iron Cobras at half the price!
-
If anyones parents etc keep bugging them for things to get but you dont really have anything you're after - get a Planet Waves string winder :) I just got one and its awesome. Winds strings well (bloody well should for a tenner!) and also has a nice handy string cutter, plus acoustic bridge pin puller (though I cant actually figure out where this is/how to use it  maybe I'm just a bit slow)
-
I just wait and see what I'm given.
What I'll be geting myself is another matter. I've ordered the materials for my isocab, so no need for that. Having a PB I cant really justify a peters till I have a good isocab. The Axe FX is pretty far from convincing me its what I want. I think I'll get a copy of IK ARC.

I have a pair of iron cobras, they fvcking rule. I have never heard of or see these Big Dog pedals you speak of. Sound intriguing. I would like to get another pair of double bass pedals so i can use them as a practice set, not on the kit, for building up speed and such.

Pah! I made a string winder thats build like a tank and fits standard electic sized machine heads like a glove :D (I made it on account of all the ones I bought flapping about idiotically or breaking quickly or both).
-
Yes, but does it have a nice string clipper built in? :P
-

+1000 here

No, but I have at least 5 wire cutters *shrug*
-
I'm relatively GAS free right now.
Apart from the fact that I want a good reverb pedal... and a decent delay pedal.
Hmmm ... a set of Irish Tours would be good as well.
Maybe I'm not that GAS free after all :D
-
to put it horribly...
I am far, far too picky a person to buy gifts for, you could buy me a dream guitar and i'd hate the color, change the color and i'd hate the pickups, change the pickups and i'd hate the fretboard radius....get a perfect fretboard and magically enough the guitar will have side-by-side tuners which i cannot stand, you get the picture.......
plus i'm far to nice of a guy to admit i'd hate your gift, my ex hated the fact she'd never know if I truly liked something she bought me as i'm never one to dissapoint
-
Current gwEm GAS status:
There has been a 70's V in vintage and rare for quite a while now! Sorry to bring it up, I am sure they have already informed you :P
-
I had a Khaler trem earmarked for my Explorer, but it's gonna be a bit too expensive once the cash to have it fitted is figured in. Now considering a Bigsby for my Tele, hmm.
Also wanting a router and dovetail jig - had planned to buy these myself but crimbo is just round the corner and people are asking for pressie ideas. Those two combined are about £60.00 - the 'rents will fork out for those two and the grey-hair can Daddy it with the power tools to get me up and running.
Lastly, I'm asking for some valve transformers and a chassis so I can build another amp - got loads of projects half/part finished at the minute, so cash-flow is tight. I always wanted a Matchless Superchief, but (1) they were/are hiddeously expensive, and (2) they only made a small number of them in the first place, so finding one is tough even 'if' I had the cash. Probably make a 30w 6L6 version of it though as the 100w that the original kicked out is a bit pointless if I want to gig it.
-
I really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really want a OLP MM32 bass in Black Cherry.
I can't find any anywhere, and it's one of two basses i ACTUALLY want. Most basses are just... ugly.
There is one on ebay but i now wont have cash until the end of the month when i get paid :(
-
The only things I quite fancy at the minute are too expensive for presents, so no real Christmas GAS list for me :(
-

Yes, curse him and his crippled boy!

I bought one of those two years back. They're very useful and quick. :D

I've been gassing for an Axon mkII midi processor for my kitchen sink equipped Feline Lion. I'll have to buy it myself though. I had to buy a new washing machine and giant LCD telly first so it's delayed my plans a bit!
-
You know what? I've got every guitar and amp I want and some nice pedals too. 3 guitars that meet all my needs and look beautiful and two very fine tube amps from California. No GAS at all. I should be happy, right? NO!! I'm very freaked out by being so contented with my lot. I've lost my materialist edge and strangely enough I now have more money than at any time in my life before. I guess it's like the old folks used to say about having things too easy.
Oh, hang on, just realised that I only have two Les Pauls. Is this enough?
-

Of course not.

Get some Bare Knuckles then reavaluate your gas.

Don't be silly. Get a Gibson ES-339. A bargain at £1200
