Title: Just bought a calibrated Cold Sweat set ... what now?
Post by: hunter on November 16, 2008, 01:02:26 PM

Was a bit of an impulse purchase, the set was up for 175$ incl shipping over at Rig-Talk, so I grabbed it.

Now where do I put them in?

Things that come to mind:

My Hamer Sunburst FloydRose that is kinda unfinished since I wasn't that happy with the Miracle Man
The Edwards LP Standard that currently has the VHIIs ...? Hmmm but it's great as is ...
The PRS SE Singecut that currently has the Rebel Yells ... maybe?

Arrrgggg, I never wanted this to happen, more pickups flying around than guitars ...

What about your Edwards Custom?

First try them in your SG, then tell me what they sound like so I can decide whether to buy a set for my SG or Mira!  :)

Then you can put them in one of your other guitars.  Maybe the Hamer?

Man you are well informed! Don't wanna change it as the pickups on there are gold covered and it's nice. Also I am a bit worried with the wiring for the 3 PU guitar. Finally, I just like it the way it is with the stock SDs actually.

My SG is a no-touch-what-is-perfect affair right now :O)

But actually Philly, what if I send them to you for trying - if you cover postage? Maybe I can still contact the seller and have them shipped to you instead to Belgium (he will be happy as his postage is cheaper). PM me your adress if interested.

What colour pickups did you buy then? That really is a decent price
3 pickups could get a bit confusing, I agree!

Or it's time to sell most of your guitars and keep your number 1. The funny thing is that you really don't need more than 2 electric guitars...one for jazz/blues/vintage rock stuff or whatever and one for the heavier rock/metal stuff. It cleans up your mind, it saves lots of money and worries and it makes you more dedicated to the few guitars you have. I'd keep the two Edwards and sell all the others.

If you play alive you need at least one twin for each guitar you have... in case of strings broken, etc

So speaks a guitar player, not a guitar collector.
