The Thred went on one of the saddles of my peavey wolfang while i was changing the strings the other day (you know those little detachable things that cost about £2 to replace)
Well it turns out that peavey decided to make their floyd licensed trems ever so slightly different to everybody elses and refuse to sell the saddles seperately.
Which means I either have to fork out £130 for a whole new bridge, or learn to play with only five strings...What a total rip :(
Hmm Don't be buying any peavey stuff again in a hurry!

You considered getting the thread reamed out and another screw fitted ?- might not be pretty but would be effective and a lot cheaper !
-
Ooohhh cheap bridges, probably mild steel, or similar, components. Bad crack. No good. Dealt with a few of them - I tend to treat them like they're going to fall apart any second (which they are, but it wont be on my watch dammit! (Not again  - almost exactly the same thing happened to me once, working on someone elses guitar! Fortunately it had happened before on that same guitar and the dude understood. I replaced it and all was well - shame you cant do the same :()
Youre better off just replacing it - it will probably happen again.

Is the post spacing the same as a Floyd (74mm) ? If so you can get an aftermarket one for a lot less than £130. Not an original but should do the job.
-
Just get a decent model that you know will fit.
There should be some edges or decent liscenced floyds on evilbay...? (Dont know, never go there).
-
Yeah i thought of that - even taking the hit and getting a proper well built Floyd - the guitar tech is gonna take a flyod bridge of one of his super strats to see if it fits but he's not exactly optomistic!
Doh! literally as i'm typing this email he phones me! ,....and no it doesnt fit!
I wouldn't mind but its not the cheapy Korean version its the full whack american standard!
Damn it why dont greco and burny make wolfgangs

Does it have a D-tuna that further complicates things?.....
If not then what about this?

EDIT:^ that's pretty good value, especially when it contains the locking nut. just make sure the nut is the right size for the guitar, though. :) and bear in mind you'll be hit with shipping, VAT, customs, etc.
+1 on whatr mdv is saying...
that sucks, by the way, good luck... :)

The licensed rose on the wolfgangs is not the same shape as any of the others; appartenly the hole is a couple of mm to the left which means the whole thing wont fit into the routing properly. It does have a d-tuna - which i actually do use! although in reality it takes about the same time to drop the machinehead down!
Think i may have to raid ebay for a spare wolfie bridge and cannabalise the parts (now and in the future!)

then they might just be distracted enough
