Evening guys,
I have been using a pedal board for a few months after many years of evil multi effects units. I currently run wah first, then comp, envelope filter, blackstar HT dual then delay all into the clean channel on my Boogie.
What I am finding is if I run the compressor first, when I switch in the wah there is a drop in volume (its a variable Q wah with boost) even with the boost all the way up. I guess this is because the input signal is being evened out by the comp. However, if I run the comp first, there is a big volume hike when I switch the wah in! I can adjust the volume hike by turning the boost off, but the overall wah 'effect' is better (smoother) pre comp.
Just wondered how you guys did it? I play mainly clean and constantly switch in and out with the wah (a curse of the funk!) and I am finding the volume drop a pain.
Any opinions appreciated.

Time based effects come last in the chain I thought?
I would of thought comp first

My comps instructions say run it last

Normal advice is Wah in to Comp due to the volume change issues, but some people like Comp into wah. I am in the former camp.
