In 30 days it won't matter since that's when they unroll the official version.

Very hard to explain. It's the Playstation Network ... in virtual reality ... and a networking tool .. and, uh ...

When i watched a video about it on Playr (a game tv show over here) it came across to me as just being Second Life for PS3.

Hehe, only too true!

I was actually selected for it, too! After eagerly anticipating this for some time now, I've got to say so far I'm not that impressed. It's more or less like the Playstation Store, except you have to walk through buildings and sit through load screens instead of navigating menus, and it just has added chat capability and some mini games. Maybe it will get more interesting as time goes by.

I was on it last night, it was pretty crowded; played a few games of pool with someone, talked esoteric Rush lore with someone named 'Booger2112'. I had a great time, actually.
Ultimately, Home is going to be centered around the clubs feature, in my opinion. Combined with the VR aspect of Home, they will give rise to Guilds ... and then Skynet ... and then ARMAGEDDON!!!! LOL

Cool, I'll join it when it can build giant robots for me. And if it can make Terminators that look like Summer Glau so much the better! :D

is it just me who finds these sort of things screaming
'dont go outside and socialise, do it online, at home, where you are safe. you can drink you're cheap supermarket beer and smoke as much as you like because it is easier for us to police you this way'
now, this could turn into a massive rant but it is something i feel quite strongly about.

it's Skynet beta PDT_001
a preparation of what's to come in a police state, ran by machines. watched iRobot? that.. hehehe
it'll make their job easier, because we'll be so used to being told what to do by our tv, that it's going to come natural to us.
get used to it.

get used to it?
are you joking?
i do pretty much as much as i can to not stay in (although right now im on the internet/learning a load of songs for a possible job opportunity next year) but i LIKE to spend my time out and about, having a beer, watching bands and meeting real people. now im not knocking forums and stuff in anyway but i think things can be taken too far ie. check myspace, email, facebook, multiple forums, news etc. it doesnt seem to affect the older generation (or people on this site) but i know that my younger and all her friends do nothing BUT that.
sad world innit.

There will be some people who spend too much time on it, but that has always been true of games. It's each person's own responsibility to balance gaming with having a real life.
-
cool, congrats!
is there any area in your life where you're just average ben?
