theres parts which work, and parts which just don't. the stuff about satan and angels carries over well to the metal format. the chorus is a bit ridiculous though.
edit: now looking around online theres quite a few metal christmas songs, and a twister sister album. i don't think the major mode and metal work at all well in this context. i suppose its good fun, but it feels like a bit of a sell out.

what the hell??
a metal christmas album?
where's the bucket to throw up in?
-
Erm...that's more than a bit weird. I don't like.
-
lmao, this is epic.
-
hahahaha. it reminds me of this - http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=eZrViNtje_o - way too much for me to be able to take it seriously. But really... the thrash version of Jingle Bells at the end is awesome :D
-
lmfao.
Dio is REALLY exaggerating his vocal swagger here.
-
This thread needs more BKP. And less shitee vocals.

I'd like it if it wasn't God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. I'm not a religious man, and I hate Christmas.... but I actually like Christmas carols. They do not need metalling up.
The recording itself is cool, sounds nice and raw, like they didn't waste loads of time on it.
This one is just stupid, but also quite entertaining I must admit:

tony iommi could make even "that's amore" or stuff like that sound f*****g METAL...
dio's performance is a bit weak... i have to admit he has sung better in other occasions...
but in general it's a great song, and their version is very cool!
-
Tony Iommi hasn;t played on a good record since 1975.
It makes me sad :(
-
Blackmore's Night actually have a fairly decent Christmas album

(how the hell did I get into Blackmore's Night? Where did it all go wrong? I blame my love of minor arpeggios :( )

i'd GLADLY listen to Iommis interpretation of "That's Amore" ... i won't be caught dead listening to that stuff. i hate christmas and everything that it's become. and i relish the time it's over cos they stop with the $%ing awfull christmas carols. i abhor them. i tend to smash every radio within earshot in december.

^ No joy for xmas sales Davey?
Many of us around here seem to be scrooges (me included :P) but I intend to pick up one of those blu ray things in January atleast...
Can't say I like the song anyway. Sounds quite unprofessional. I would use the word raw in a good way if it was, but just no!

i rarelly buy anything on sale. when i want something, i buy it. and it's not likelly that it's on sale at the moment.. well, apart of the guitar i just bought 8), though i must concede it's a good way to buy (especially in the holiday season) when you're going to spend too much money anyway, so you dont spend AS much.
but christmas now .. heck, ever since coca cola took over "santa", it's just a retailer fest. same with valentines day, or easter. it's all just a joke. frickin christian adaptations...
now i'm ranting again.. and you folk dont like that, so i'll let myself out of this thread

Santa was red and white centuries before Coca Cola
They still appropriated him like, but little known facts are fun.
-
Santa was red and white centuries before Coca Cola
i said took over santa. not made him up. then they used the image as an advertising slogan and all that bullcr@p.

Which is why the second half of the quote that you omitted was relevant
