Are you sure it's 10kpF ? And that's a resistor setting ???? I thought resistors are only measured in ohms...not Farads...pf is picoFarads and uf is microFarads...pf is one millionth of  a farad and pf is one trillionth of a farad, but i've never seen kpf ! And to my knowledge only capacitors are measured in Farads.

It's written on schematic 10 KpF and 10Mohms on another cannot find either in maplins

I'm guessing that in a sort of slightly slang way a kpF could refer to a thousand (k), picofarads (pF), which would be the same as a nanofarad (nF), which is the same as 0.001 microfarads. All of these are, of course units of capacitance, and have nothing to do with resistors !!

Def a resistor and is 10Mohms....KpF unsure was from a 60's schematic..but seems Maplin don't go up as high as 10Mohms

10M, 0.6w metal film resistors from Rapid, item# 62-7638.  £2.20 for 100 of them.

you probably won't find a cap listed as 10,000pF, it'll be listed as 10nF or more likely 0.01uF

Thanks...showing my lack of knowledge on this...just want to get it up and running enough to see what else needs replacing
