How many guitars acted as inspiration for this beast of a guitar
http://www.carlinoguitars.com/images/Picture_28322.jpg (http://www.carlinoguitars.com/images/Picture_28322.jpg)
I rather like it
Looks like something Paul Stanley of Kiss should be playing

very nice!

Quite amusing seeing the different shapes all merged together. Dare I say it though, I'd rather have the chick in that pic than the guitar ;)

I think the top half of the body's too big in proportion to the bottom half.
Same applies to the guitar.
-
they're both nice, but with the guitar the upper mockingbird horn seems a bit out of proportion, i can imagine if this would be shrunk by 1/3rd or so it would look perfect.

Hush!
Proportions look good to me!
-
not sure if i like that or not...
-
I'm not sure why, but when I look at it I think 'Schecter'...
-
More interested in the girl myself
-
They have a guitar image generator on the site too

You're a sick man, Jonathan...

I see what you mean but I'm veering towards Framus myself!

I'm thinking Paul Stanley and those silly-looking Silvertones he endorses.

no - the old tart has gone back to Washburn
-
By now I just can see it as many pieces glued together :?

Has he? It's impossible to keep track of him.
Actually, I think maybe it was the old pseudo-Iceman Washburn model I was thinking of.
There's a hint of reverse-headstock Fernandes Ravelle about it too.
-
a ravelle aint too far off a castrated iceman anyway... i guess my version takes it even further that way
-
hahaha i remember seeing that a while ago. I personally think its really gross... honestly, wheres the carved top? :p
and they left out the coolest part of the mockingbird! the lower horn! COME ON! COOOME ONNNNN!
-
I don't like the 'original' black one, but Jonathons pink zebra version looks great :)

now that's more like it! :D

I like the idea. Just not with a Mockingbird. I intend to build one.
It's gotten me to go to Kisekae and JCF but I've just noticed you have to donate to use the custom builder on JCF. What a joke :?
-

I'm not keen on the headstock - strings veer off all over the place
-
Identity?
Identity Crisis more like.

Plus there is a MASSIVE distance between the bridge and the end of the guitar (the bit at the bottom if you put it in a stand). This is also my main gripe with standard SGs and LPs - all that wasted scale length! :)

That really annoys me about Carvins too, and they use a measly 25 inch scale.

No such problem with Teles though!

I like!
The guitar's nice too.
-
I'll take both...

It's true! Philly, you've managed to find one, minor redeeming feature about telecasters! Of course, it's not nearly enough to dent their otherwsie steadfast gay pride, though ;)

:o
Time to declare a national holiday, get the flags out and have a parade through Trafalgar Square on an open-top bus!
-
very nice - nice guitar too
-
I like it.

As Paris Hilton would say: "That's hot!"
-
Great finish, but the body itself keep not doing me :?
But I would love a guitar with a finish like that
-
That flamed one looks awesome, not something i could live with day to day but as a one off, quirkly stage axe, brilliant!
-
Hmm when I look at the position of the floyd within the middle of the body rather than the tail, this will be a very long guitar. I like them short, like e.g. a MusicMan Axis.

I know exactly what you mean - although you see the picture of the girl with the guitar and you can see that it also looks good as a stage guitar
As an Iceman fan and a Flying V player I get on with many bigger guitars although I don't like the Dean Razorback
-
I like guitars bith a bit of body behind the bridge. Explorers, Flying V's, Gretsches.
I have thought about getting one of those Mockingbird Specials. I didn't because the bridge is to far to the back.

Yeah, I noticed that - they've done it so the 22nd fret is where the 24th would normally be, and moved the bridge accordingly. It messes up the visual balance. I don't think the Les Paul control arrangement suits it, either.
I like the look of the Calibre Classics, but I've never seen one in a shop and it's not something I'd buy without trying first.
-
i made mine too... on the same website i've been mesmerized (and almost trew 990$ at it before calming down...) by the US masters Hornet Performer... have you ever played one of those?
