....a Line 6 JM4. Been on the look out for a looper pedal for a while. Read the review of this in guitarist last month. Should be with me on Thursday.
Anyone else on here got one? Will post a (very quick) review up when I have had a play with it

I'm after a looper but not sure which one to get. The line 6 is supposed to be a good one so It'll be good to read what yours is like. :D

i thought you'd taken up human cloning, looking at the title... :D

:P Now that would be brilliant. I could send the cloned one of me to work and stay at home all day playing guitar!
-
or have all your clones playing different guitar parts so you dont need a looper!!

The possibilities are endless!

Wouldn't you just end up fighting yourself over which one goes to work?

And that is when the most epic game of "Stop hitting yourself" ensues.

Lol. On a serious note, i was looking at one of these the other day, i too will be very interested to see how you get on :)

i completely derailed the thread. Sorry...

Don't worry bout it, i didn't mean it like that lol. it's all good fun, that's why i like this forum :)

the only other options are..
akai headrush - too short loop time imo
boss rc-20xl - seems a good option.. quantizing, although some dont like this option
digitech jamman - also looks quite good, and has seperate guitar and mic ins
boss rc-2 - very similar to the rc20xl... makes me think they could do better with the rc-20xl more than anything.
boss dd-20 (sound on sound) bit limiting for a looper
the EH one.. just seems too fiddly to be useable
i havent looked at the line 6 one, i cant decide if i like having dist and effects built in or not.. i think id rather have a few pedals infront of the looper.

I did have the EH looper for a few days. Didn't like it so sent it back - it felt very flimsy and sounded too sterile.

The JM4 arrived today so here is a very, very, very quick review.
It's being sent back tomorrow. I tried it for a few hours and just didn't like it - the modelled sounds are just too digital for my liking (I guess I should have known this beforehand!). The jam tracks are pretty good fun and probably very good for practice and timing but for £209.00 I didn't think this feature justified it. Mic'd up it sounded pretty decent but it's not very often that I get to mic the amp up and play at a decent volume.
Basically if felt like something I would use for a while and then sell for half price on eBay in a few months time - this made my mind up for me.
There you go - very quick. Already planning what to spend that £209.00 (minus postage) on now!
