Title: Hiwatt HG412?
Post by: _tom_ on December 13, 2008, 10:04:34 AM
I have the opportunity of buying a loaded Hiwatt Hi-Gain HG412 cab for around half of the rrp and from what I can see, it looks almost new condition. I dont want to buy it if its cr@p though, has anyone used one before and if so how does it sound? Their site doesnt state which speakers it actually uses so I guess theyre unbranded cr@p, or what? If they are, is the construction good and if so would £200 be good just for a solid enclosure or would I just be wasting my money?

Cheers :)

If that's one of the new ones, I think they're made in China for Music Ground?  No idea of the quality though  :(

Yeah it is a new one in the High Gain series. The details on the Hiwatt site are a bit vague.

Could be chipboard?  I'd try and find out if it's plywood before buying it.  Chipboard is rubbish for cabs  :(
