I've just finished my first partscaster and here it is. It's a wax over oil finish 2 piece Swampash body with a very fat malpe neck. It has callaham bridge and pickguard and BKP Blackguard Flat 50's with a 4-way switch. Tim also supplied a prewired control plate with a paper oil cap for the tone control.
it's taken me a few months to assemble and finish, mainly due to lack of funds but with all the bits it would of taken about 10 days, mainly for the true-oil oil coats on the body.
The best bit, it resonates like hell, the only tele I've played similar was a £2300 relic in Sounds Great, you can really feel the body vibrate through the neck and up through the strap. The Blackguards are fantastic, I have definitely made the right choice there. I expected the bridge PuP to be as good as it was but the neck really surprised me, it is so soulful and sweet. I have even changed my opinion is that all good neck Fender sounds come in Strat form!
I had a gig on Friday and Buchanan tones were flying off my fretboard - amazing :D
Total cost was just under £700.

Nice one! :) Where did you get the neck and body, just out of interest?
I'm working on something pretty similar myself...

Very nice,
Glad you made the right choice on the pickups.

The body and neck were from Allparts UK.
Yeah, definitely got the right pickups. I'd always pictured the 50's tele sound in a cranked tweed sense but played cleaner they have a real smooth Hi-Fi quality, very nice for cleaner bluesy / jazzy stuff. But they can definitely rock too......

Great stuff, I like the idea of the compensated bridge but with the classic look! Nice one.

A very nice looking guitar - the Black guards are a really versatile set.

Looks great man, very classic. Gotta love the 4-way switching too. Inconspicuous but very useful IMO. Love the series position on my Tele.
