Title: While we were talking about Gary Moore ... (MiracleMan)
Post by: hunter on December 20, 2008, 09:08:07 AM
... I felt tempted to try my newly added MM in MusicMan Axis combo with a "BROWN" model in the Axe and do some dirt fast.

Here's the result:

Great tone and playing, Mr Hunter.

I can't think of Brazil without pervy thoughts of cute Latino women dancing through my head...

Satriani?

Dude this song is not from a Coldplay composer, it is from a bone hard blues man from UK, and he was playing this on a white one pickup Charvel, for which I would probably give my small finger if I could own it.

Weird! I was just trying to learn this solo last night & this morning. Can't keep up with the fast picking bit though!
Still, it's good practice trying.
Nice job by the way Hunter.

I meaned the tone of the guitar, not the song :)

Nice one Hunter

Think Gary played a Hamer Sunburst /Gary Moore model on this one
I was lucky enough to see Phil Lynott play this one with Grand Slam back in 1984 at my Uni - Middlesex Poly Student Union in Hendon

Here i a great clip from an 80s rock show called ECT - channel 4 I think

Darn, I have almost the same guitar (just in Cherryburst with flamed maple top) just given it a set of Cold Sweats. Maybe I should do that recording again with the Hamer ...?

I love Gary Moore - have seen him solo (Back on the Steerts tour), with Lizzy, G-Force, Scars and guesting on other gigs.  He gets brilliant tone from his guitars - whatever they are.

I do not however feel that he is going down the right track with his new album. Yes, it's great but it sounds to me like rehashing older blues material.  I think he should go back to Corridors of Power/ Still got the blues driving leads.

Just my 2p worth!!!

Cheers Lads,
Jim
