Hi all,
I recently upgraded my pickups in a Gordon Smith tele. Following Times advice I went for a Boss bridge and a Irish tour neck. I had a tech do the picjup swap. I am a right wuzz when it comes to any routing. Anyway I have got the guitar back and been playing. Im convinced that on the neck and middle position there is a small intermintant crackling noise. Does this sound like a bad earth on the neck pickups to you people or am I barking up the wrong tree? I have tryed it pluged into 3 different amps with two different leads that seem fine with another tele.
Any advice greatly received.
Cheers guys

Could be a loose connection or dirt in the switch.

Ratrod thanks for the reply I have tried the guitar again and whatever was happening is no longer. Guess you could have been spot on about dirt in the switch. Anyway im happy problem seems to have solved itself.
Thanks you for the advice.

Well I thought the problem had gone away. I was wrong anyway I had a few small jobs I wanted guitar tech to take a look at so i look this guitar along. He seemed to think it sounded like static around the pickup or pickguard. Anyway he has sheilded it with some copper. Hopefully that will solve the problem. Let you know when I have tried it.
