Title: Nuno's new signature amp
Post by: hunter on December 31, 2008, 11:05:14 AM

I do like that someone finally did a somewhat different design.

If it sounds as good as he says ...? Let's see...

Vaguely described characteristics sound interesting. If they keep the design it will certainly be popular. We'll see how it does on the road with Extreme...

I saw Extreme in Cambridge, and it blew up 3 songs in... Nuno used a Marshall for the rest of the gig. I went 3 weeks later to the Birmingham (yeah, i'm a fan!) and the Randall's sounded great.

It reminds me of the ugly cr@p they used to put out in the sixties and seventies... in fact it reminds me of my dads old hi-fi!

It had better sound good...

The amp looks badass. Don't care how it sounds, I'll never buy one.

I agree with Ben.

It's an anti randall thing...

I never said I'm anti-Randall. I said I have no intention of buying a Nuno signature head. Ever. But I think it looks fantastic. If anyone wants to buy one, mazel tav to you!! :)

I really don't give a fetid dingo's kidney (thank you, Douglas Adams) if the amp sounds like the Second Coming. If it does, then more power to Nuno, Randall, and whoever is happy to own one.

The anti Randall thing is more on my side.

As i've never heard a good tone from a randall EVER

And yeah i know kirk uses one on DM but c'mon whos ever liked kirks rhythm tone??

I think Randall heads give some awesome tones. I owned an RM100, which was pretty nice, but I think the T2 is the best metal/hardrock tube head around. Tone is subjective, of course, though  :)

I really like the look of the Randall Nuno amps - it's different to anything else out there and still looks cool, kudos!

I don't know everything i have ever heard has sounded over clinical and really flat.

Maybe someone should give me some youtube clips to good randall tones???

Good is pretty subjective when it comes to tone, so it kinda depends what sort of music you like. Gus G uses a Randall T2 for the leads on Firewind's latest album "The Premonition". You mightn't like that power metally tone, though, so I'll hunt around for different styles too.

I think it's one of the coolest looking amps of recent times. Definitely interested to hear/try it, though I doubt I'd buy one.
