Looks like he got a endorser from DiMarzio, but in his site there is still the link to BKP...

You can only use equipment endorsed by, and with the full blessing of, Legends Cup coffee to play in Megadeth.

I've heard he's still using his Ibanez/BKP/ENGL, and will be for a while...

Chris has got some monster talent. Let's hope he does not become jaded by Mustaine.

Chris has decided to go with a deal with Dimarzio for whatever reason. As we're only a small company we simply can't afford to endorse artists and give away free pickups-everyone on our user list has bought and paid for their pickups which, as far as I'm concerned, is the way it should be.

He has obviously gone down the path of being paid big money to support something instead of playing what he thinks sounds best musically.  His loss.

When Hetfield started getting sigs from ESP I believe he insisted on paying for them, saying "Now that I can finally afford this stuff I dont see why I should get it for free".

I dunno what he does now, I doubt he still pays for some reason, but that sounds about right to me. Someone does the work, you pay for the work.

Shame about Broderick. He was a good name to have. I bet he still plays his BKs when Dave and Dimarzio arent looking!!

Its a shame really. Maybe he is really convinced by some DiMarzio's though, his choice ultimately

yeah, i always thought it was a bit off that those who can really afford (and justify!) spending big bucks on guitar rigs get stuff for free. that's the way the world works, though (not just guitars)... look at all those goody bags oscar nominees get, etc. etc. etc. paradox being that once you can actually afford nice stuff, you get a lot of stuff offered for free...

:(

As for me I knew about BKP thanks to him, and it is a pity this kind of people leave...for the worst (I hate Di Marzio !) Broderick ? Who's broderick : no one know about broderick...anymore !!

Anyway Tim, you have to know your job merits much more consideration than that. You'll have much more famous and talented guitarists to come !

Broderick is gone, Long live BKP !

Why not starting making a new attractive website...   :D

I think this is one of those cause and effect things. There are persistent rumours that Ibanez will be releasing a Broderick signature in the near future (provided Dave doesn't force him to sign with Dean ;) ). If this is the case I can see that with the quantities Ibanez will be making they'd be uncomfortable using pickups from a small boutique maker (and does Tim even have the capacity to produce 5000 sets per year for wholesale?). Therefore I can imagine them telling him it had to be Dimarzio, who they've got a longterm relationship with and probably don't cost them much.

Have seen Mustaine reporting recently from the Priest Feast Tour :"Chris is the best guitarist Megadeth has had".   :guitar4:
And knowing about the ability of the man to pay compliments to someone, this is quite a very rare event ! Worth mentioning it !.

Of course Chris Broderick is a high talented guitarist and we wish him all the best with his new endorsements (no matter what will they be in the future) and with Megadeth.

We guess that some CS and NB will still remain in his personal guitars anyway, somewhere at home...

Oh and have a look at this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdHOS-m6d_4

Kidding me right? I'm sure Transcend will agree with me but has he forgotten about Marty Friedman and Chris Poland? :P

I'm at work at the moment, but if thats the betcha cant play this, then its the only one where I've thought "No I $%&#ing cant play that!". Sat for an evening with the video series, a beer supply and my guitars going through them, and got to his and my jaw just fell to my lap, and didnt leave.

If its not then I'll post it up later.

The end part is similar and i agree with josh he is definitely forgetting friedman and poland

but on another note

when i saw them with broderick i must say he is an outstanding player possibly better technically and when it comes to speed but when it comes to feel and phrasing he has nothing on friedman

we still have to wait to see what his writing in megadeth is like though

Some clairvoyance the Force gives you Master Yoda
It is like the Betcha Can't Play This, feels like the BCPT, but not exactely the BCPT..

Kidding me right?

Just full for you :
"Anyway, as y'all know, Chris Broderick turned 39 yesterday, and I am so proud of this guy. I mean, I watch him play on stage and everyday he gets better and better. We are aware of the reviews, and we still are trying to have a perfect show, so if you think that you have seen a good one, just wait until he starts to feel 100% and then after that, once I start to feel we are at 100%. I am going on record and I am saying unequivocally that Chris is THE BEST GUITARIST Megadeth has ever had."Dave Mustaine, March 7, 2009 at www.megadeth.com

Then answering the rest here (especially the comparison with Friedman) may be too long and maybe becoming off topic, I think I am going to open a new one to discuss more largely of Megadeth guitarists what do you think ?
